I think it is less of a graphics card issue, and more of an issue that they bought the software from a company that was windows only, and wanted to bring the product to market sooner rather than later.

No, they said a Macintosh version of Google Earth, not a PowerPC version. Just because Apple is changed to Intel chips doesn't mean that they can suddenly run Windows applications.

  5. Re:Does this mean Redmond wants a P2P 'war'? on Bram Cohen's Response to Microsoft's Avalanche · · Score: 1

Yes, I did read the article, and I got out of it that BitTorrent (the protocol) was responsible for being able to distrube spy/mal-ware. The only definitive reference he makes to BitTorrent (the client) is when he talks about aurora.exe and nail.exe being "alongside" (whatever the hell that means) btdownloadgui.exe. This just means he was using Brams BT client, not BitComet, Azereus, or whatever other clients there are out there. The real problem with all this is that Bram's client and the protocol he created are named the same thing. DOPE!

What do you mean address the article? What was stated in the article is true. The bittorrent protocol is being used to distribute things with spyware in it, just as it distributes illegal files, legal files, and everything inbetween. Bram can't say anything more than that, and the same warnings everyone in the tech sector has always said, don't trust a god damn thing.

I mean, come on. RSS feeds are useful for stuff that you check daily, hourly, etc. This is usually stuff you are familiar with, and would know how to find in the first place. On the other hand, if I want to find something out about a subject I'm not particularly familiar with, I go to google and search.

if a guy said these same things, about women gamers, it would probably be discredited, despite the fact that most of what she said is common sense (eg one whole gender doesn't all like one specific thing). The only reason why it was posted here on /. is the simple fact that a woman posted it (again, not bashing, just saying)

I mean, just look at games like Final Fantasy 7. It had a great story, the people looked retarded. Didn't stop me from playing the hell out of it. IMHO, developers focusing too much on graphics actually makes a game suck, because they don't put enough effort into making the game have a compelling story, or, for that matter, making the game long enough to justify a pricetag of 50 dollars (or more). Just look at games like Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Fable, God of War. These were all good games with pretty cool graphics, but they were just flat out too short for what it should have been.
