Actually it prevents them from disallowing the removal or diabling of the code that implements DRM, not preventing it's circumvention, which is illegal under the DMCA. Removing the code that encodes the media with DRM does not circumvent the DRM measure, but rather makes it so that there is no longer any DRM to circumvent, which is not illegal.
Apple doesn't care about making aac standard, they chose it purely because it's cheaper to license than mp3. I just wish they would move to FLAC. The lack of a licensing cost would more than makeup in the increase of needed bandwidth.
Intel has speedstep technology which does almost precisely the same thing as powernow. Core 2s also have significantly lower power consumption than AMD processors.
If you're really into running ultra low power you could run a mobile processor for the desktop, on something like this board

A C7 would likely be a much better choice for a webserver, you get SATA, and a much faster processor, which is much more suited to serving web traffic. And if you're hosting torrent files you will likely be having lots of disk access, making SATA a huge benefit.
GTA 3, VC, and SA used the same engine, and are thus from the same generation, kind of like episodic content, while still being full length games. GTA 4 has a new game engine so it's a different generation. Though this distinction wasn't really maintained in GTA 1 and 2, as they used the same engine, as well as there being another game London 1969 between them.
I don't see this as a huge problem, 3G deployment isn't widespread at this point, and EDGE still delivers ~200 Kbit data rates, which is nothing to scoff at for a mobile device, and perfectly suitable for web browsing and the like, but it still gives you wi-fi if you need higher throughput for some reason. Hell we don't even know if the browser supports flash, which if omitted nullifies a signifcant portion of available video content. And you should also note that it isn't a tether-modem so one of the major features of 3g phones is moot.
Apple has a phone with a good UI that plays MP3s. The ipod wasn't revolutionary because it played MP3s, but because it played them easily and it played alot of them. Current phones frankly suck as mp3 players, because it's a tacked on feature tht for the most part has a terrible UI, and compatibility issues, as well as a notable absence of onboard memory in any sort of viable capacity.

Are there ANY desktop platforms that are non-x86? If you're running linux on something non-x86 it's likely not a desktop platform.
This probably won't happen until 64-bit software gets more acceptance, because the memory density of google's current hardware is already maxed at 4 GB to a 32-bit machine. 64-bit machines can adress a whole lot more memory, which they'll need to if they move from 400 mhz machines to 2 GHZ machines.
Unlikely, given that the bit-stripping scheme is likely closed a proprietary to prevent anyone from being able to do this. The encoding scheme likely strips the bits from an arbitrary location in the file and then chooses a random sequence of bits to remove, making it near impossible to replicate or cover up with bitstripping. Though it's likely that running the file into another codec will corrupt it enough to prevent identification of the source file.
I had a miserable childhood, and were it not for electronics, and more specifically the internet I don't know how I could have survived this long. It provided an escapist outlet for me, and a way to interact with people on my intellectual level, that I couldn't find out in the real world. It allowed me to become a functioning member of society, that I don't think I could have become otherwise.
How do they honestly expect to be able to comb through such a vast amount of records anyway? Google's infrastructure is incredibly large and still doesn't catalogue every inch of the internet. What this is proposing is to have millions of individual records from millions of individual sites, are they going to attempt to build a Google-esque infrastructure to search this?
The taskbar is the biggest reason I use windows over OS X. If there's not an option for one in 7 I'll probably switch to OS X or Ubuntu.
...That they're finally going to resolve the cliffhanger ending of the series. A great show that really deserved a comeback.

Is it really that hard to get a proxy in the UK?
I was under the impression that niether of them actually used directx at all.
Cedega has much greater compatibility among games than WINE, as it focuses on implementing the directX API rather than the Win32 API
Maybe I'm missing something, but aren't Doom 3 and Enemy Territory OpenGL based and Linux native? Benchmarking them with Cedega is pointless.
It allows you to get more life out of an old ipod, with a dying hard drive.

I thought the AI was a big joke, the bots couldn't even manage to avoid sniper fire at all on the highest setting.

...it's as though they're suggesting there's crime in New York. Who would think of such a blatant lie?
One thing Apple did tell us is that you won't be able to use the iPhone as a wireless Bluetooth modem for a laptop on the road... That's from macworld so I'd be pretty confident in saying that, barring a software upgrade for the phone.
For the blog part, Twitter does kinda what you want.

...It's top 10 at the very least.
