    It depends if you usually use virtualization, when you have a lot of virtual machines created with a lot of snapshots, just 'play' VM, drag and drop, execute, and drag and drop again from your desktop.

    Another idea is to have some vm in Internet for public use, so you can use it to clean your scrap, and the machine return to previous snapshot periodically.

    You can extract with a tool if it uses a standard method of executing code. But if it's not then you can spend time on reverse engineering or put it inside a virtual machine and solve the issue faster.

    When you download something suspicious like an executable to extract a movie, one of the best solutions available is to run VMWare or any other machine virtualization software and extract the contents inside the Box. Then copy data files to your machine.

    But, where is the OSS funding discussion? for example if the EU wants to adopt OSS, I think they ethically need to put a bulk a money on it, not just enjoying results.

    The business cases are full of companies with difficult to change their minds when time changes, some examples are IBM and Cray. The question is if Microsoft can detach from his original idea of one PC in each home (with windows operating system only!) to a more strategic one.
    Like in board games Microsoft needs to sacrifice some pieces and try to win the match changing to another strategy.

    The article is written by somebody who doesn't know anything about operating systems and frameworks. How can be an operating system be based on .NET beyond Windows buzz keywords? I think the author wants a calculator, mediaplayer and all windows stuff written in .NET?

    I think relational databases are overestimated in detriment of other high quality existent and open source databases. One of the most important and fastest databases are (and from the same author!):
