No shit. This would make it a harsher penalty for remotely peeking at your neighbor's computer over his unprotected wifi, than if you broke into his house and stole his computer. Hell, some people don't make a million dollars in their whole lifetime.
He mentioned that. But then he would have to inform a few hundred server operators to update their systems to use the new name. Which on second though, is something they will have to do anyway, if he closes his NTP down. They'll have to reconfigure to a new one. Since DLink are bastards, he may as well just change his server's host name and tell all the Danish server ops to update.
Office macros are VBA script (alt+F11 to see the code). If OOS doesn't support/run vba script then I'd say so no macros should work. You can actually get quite complex with the VB in Excel, create activeX objects on the page, etc. Almost make a little VB app out of your spreadsheet.
The main reason for me even going GSM in the first place is that I can just swap my SIMM card to any phone I choose, and address book and phone number follows me. So any phone that doesn't save that info to my card, or makes it very hard to do, is not a phone I will ever own. I also have had no problem buying phones overseas. I didn't like what Tmobile had to offer, so I started looking around through some UK websites. So long as the phone is triband, and not locked, it works just fine with Tmo. So I get a phone with the features I want (not the features Tmo wants me to have) and I have the cool factor of having a phone no one else in my area probably has. I always get comments on my Seimens SL55. It's a tiny little slide-out phone. No frills, but does exactly what I want a phone to do.
er.. any server not under your direct control can store any amount of data and you would not even know about it, much less be able to delete it. I wouldn't trust my ISP to not keep my deleted email. Luckily for me, I have my own domain and sendmail server. I really do own my email. When I delete something, it's really deleted. It's also nice to be able to add servers that send me spam to the server's firewall and block them forever.:)
My heart bleeds for them having to endure being called such harsh names and berated in a game all day long. What, they don't like being called "Chinese gold farmers"? Well, lets see... Chinese? Check. Farming? Check. For gold? Check. I guess an appropriate retort to me would be for them to call me "American game player" in the most derogatory typing style they can. Waa?
Someone please tell me how the fuck they could prove that certain incriminating files even existed, if said files were wiped before they got the laptop? What if they were never there to start with? What a fucking idiot retard of a judge.
Yes, but "software engineers" are not engineers. Weren't some of the real engineering groups making a fuss a few years ago, about computer people being given the "engineer" title?
Obviously grabbing random traffic and scanning it isn't going to work. They need to "capture" one of the bots, and study it. Watch all the traffic coming and going, disassemble the software that receives and executes the commands. Then they'd have a solid base for knowing how to track and/or block traffic like that, at least for that one bot variant. So, they'd have to do that for every bot network out there. And who knows how many there really are, or how different they are.
If you're using that software in a hacking context but yet don't what the software really does or how it works, or how the exploit you're attempting to abuse works, yes. It's not just whether you use someone elses ideas or software, it's about knowledge. Someone is a script kiddie because they're trying to hack somebody, but have no idea what they're doing. Just grabbed an off the shelf tool, without knowing the theory behind what it's doing.
How do you change this in Apache 2.x? Do you need to edit the source before compiling, or is there some file somewhere to change? Any links that explain it?
I know. And I cringe at the thought of the coming years. They might be a pain in the ass now, but my kids are going to kill me when they become teenagers.
I don't know... anyone that can use learn and use Linux on a daily basis will have no problem using Windows with almost no training. Anyway, the majority of households have windows at home anyway. Not like they'll have never seen it before. They'll be on it all day long playing games, using AIM, writing Myspace/livejournal blogs, etc.
No, not even collection agencies. Although they'd love for you to beleive that. A collection agency cannot do anything that could incur a consumer any kind of costs in the pursuit of collecting a debt. Calling a cell phone can cost the consumer real money. If they call a cell phone, and the owner tells them it's a cell phone, and tells them to stop, they'll be breaking the law if they call it back again. It's the same as if they tried to make a collect call to you. Then they would also be open to a lawsuit by the consumer under FDCPA violations to the tune of $1000 + actual damages incurred. Actually, even if you tell them that it's "inconvenient" to call you at this number at any time, they must stop calling that number. Original creditors (someone you have or had an open account with) are exempt from this law, as it only applies to collection agencies.
And what's so bad about nipples anyway? We all have them! We all know what they look like! The christians in this country vilify the human body. Female nipples are evil, and looking at them is a sin.
Europe is so progressive compared to us it's not funny. We're still living in the Puritan's 1600's.
UMD's cost $30, when you can buy a DVD at higher encoding quality for $12-18... and they wonder why no one wants to buy them?? Morons? Even if they were evenly priced, why would I want to watch a movie on my tiny PSP screen?
Most people I know aren't going to go out and buy new HDCP compliant HD-DVD player's, stereo reciever, and TV's just to play a new super-DRM'd movie format. Unless the market is saturated with the equipment for years beforehand, thus ensuring that anyone who's purchased anything in the last few years already has the technology. I don't know about the average consumer, but I don't upgrade my equipment very often. Once a decade? My TV is over 10 years old. My DVD player probably 7. Reciever about the same. I have a couple VCR's from the 80's. They all work perfectly fine, and cost me a pretty penny when I bought them. Why would I buy new ones? Most of the people I know are the same. I won't be buying new equipment just because they want me to use their new "improved" media.
You completely missed the point. The GP said "property I own", meaning he's already purchased said disk, and now he wants to play it on any device he happens to own that can play that type of media. We bought it, and we want to fucking watch it on whatever we want to. It's NOT the author's place to tell us what brands or models of equipment we are allowed to watch it on. And THAT is what this HDCP model does. It doesn't just stop pirates from copying it, it stops me from watching it, which is exactly what my "license" grants me permission to do. The equipment I use is my choice, not the content provider.
Yeah, of course HE says "it was only on breaks, I promise". You're going to assume he's being completely honest? RTFA. He says if he was working hard for a couple hours he would stop and get some coffee and play a game for a bit. Therefore not only on "legal" breaks.

Yes, but now that I'm aware of this, if I take my 15k in at 3 difference deposits, I'm already guilty of stucturing, aren't I?

:) I just almost never use them. I think I own like 2 video tapes. Keep them more for nostaligic reasons.

Why is this news? Every employer I've ever worked for would have fired me for playing games on company time.
Bingo!
And therein lies the reason I won't be using Vista.
At least not until the crack comes out to disable the built-in malware features.
