Other point - most of the times, they choose "gun-free zones" (schools, for instance - or effectively most of the state of California) for massacres.
It's harder to find instances of long rampages in right-to-carry states than it is in restrictive states like CA. Of course, the Giffords shooting in Arizona comes to mind, but the only reason they didn't shoot the guy was that they managed to tackle him to the ground. One of the guys tackling him actually DID have a permit and was carrying, if I recall - he just didn't use the gun because of the crowds.
My wife and I are both in our 30s, and certainly do not have a celibate marriage. We have a pair of PS3's, and we spent last night playing Street Fighter 4. Usually she's on Xenosaga or a Final Fantasy game and I'm on an FPS or TPS of some sort.
Most of my friends are in their 30s. Only a few of them don't have consoles. With the exception of one girl who just turned 30 (and just got a PS3... maybe it's something about that magic 30), none of us use Wii's for anything other than entertaining small children.
Don't misrepresent me as saying the Wii is garbage - I never said it doesn't do a specific job acceptably. But you can NOT make the ridiculous claim that anyone who's ever gotten laid prefers Wii-style games.
I would laugh my rear off if the police were to issue the following statement:
"Guys, we only had hearsay about the OS. We couldn't get the roomie to tell us whether he ran Solaris x86, BSD, or Linux, ok? By the way, we read Slashdot too."
Don't forget jackhammers outside due to road work, an unbalanced washer/dryer, heck SOMEONE ELSE'S unbalanced washer/dryer if you're in an apartment. For that matter, military helicopters and jets overhead (I live near Miramar) or even trains thundering by.
For that matter, some floors are less sturdy than others... back in TN I remember my friend's apartment floors shaking when the lardos next door would go running down the hall.
What's next? Will MS ask, "How come you didn't buy the Microsoft-designed shock absorber platform to keep it perfectly steady?"
Small vibrations are to be EXPECTED - even some moderately large ones. Not to handle those is a design defect, and I really don't think there are too many folks who sit around arbitrarily relocating their X-Box and getting scratched discs. Most gamers are twitchy enough about their discs that they'd stop moving the stupid thing after the first time the system crashes during a move and they go, "GEE, I shouldn't do that anymore".
Yet instead, even the folks who are cautious and NOT moving it are ending up with entire scratched-up collections.
Aha. Well, what I was getting at is just that believing hard enough won't conjure sammitches from mid air, but living a Godly life (which doesn't include being lazy) will cause circumstances to tend to adjust such that you don't starve, etc.
So in this case, yes, "worrying primarily about the things of God" includes a simple life with hard work. I shall qualify it to state that I don't think Jesus cared whether your work was mental or physical, but only that it was work.
I also think that a simple life really just means one that's well within your means. I personally think that if we could ask God, we'd find that He doesn't care much for interest-only loans or ARM's, for that matter. I'm NOT claiming that the meltdown is some kind of divine punishment, but taking such a loan to afford something far beyond one's means is probably what He was cautioning against when He spoke of extravagances, etc.
Nope, the implication is that if you're worrying primarily about the things of God, God will ensure that circumstances work out such that you are taken care of.
This is the basic premise by which missionaries go out into the field and end up being supported by donations from churches, etc.
The NFA (National Firearms Act) has a number of different classifications, many of which are treated differently. One class of weapon isn't necessarily as restricted as another. The class of weapon which you're thinking of is machine guns. Those are restricted in absolutely the way you describe - since 1986, it's been illegal to build a new transferrable MG. They have to be purpose-built for law enforcement, military, or dealer sample purposes.
However, a P90-length-barrel PS90 is a different class of NFA item. It's an SBR (Short Barrelled Rifle), which you can make any time you want, as long as you jump through the appropriate hoops with the ATF first and your state doesn't prohibit it. It's actually pretty easy to get an SBR approved in most places. A rough guide is that it'd cost about $200 in paperwork fees to make a new one, or $5 to transfer one that's already been made.
Suppressors are another class of NFA item which, on a federal level, can still be legally purchased after the requisite paperwork is filled out. Your state's prohibitions may vary.
Here in California, for instance, they really don't want us to have any NFA items, but a select few classes (destructive devices like cannons / tanks, short-barrelled shotguns derived from curio+relic shotguns, etc) can be done in California provided that you're very careful about the laws when doing so. (Californians: hit http://www.calguns.net/ for further details, no need to threadjack further)
Short of full auto, the P90's pretty easily done. Get a PS90, and assuming you live in an NFA-friendly state you can pay the $200 tax stamp and cut down the barrel to the correct length.
Pulling the trigger on a PS90 a bunch of times really fast doesn't really make the gun move off target.
If you don't want to do the SBR conversion and still want it to look like it's out of a video game, attaching a fake can to it makes it look just like a suppressed version. That's how I have mine, since I live in a state (CA) where you can't go under 30" in overall length.
That's because the "Restore" option is deceptively named. When I upgraded a friend's PS3 to 250GB a while back, I used 'restore', but all that was for was restoring the system defaults. If I recall correctly, in order to restore your backup you first go to the backup menu like you're going to take a backup, then there's a 'restore' option buried down in there. It wasn't exactly obvious on the first go, but we did get all his system settings migrated gracefully once we figured out which restore option to use.:)
Err, the PS3 ships with one built into its system. You can, at any point, have it do a backup to a memory card (assuming you have a large enough one) or a USB-connected external hard drive.
If your definition of paternity here involves reproduction via indoctrination, not insemination, then yes this is how geeks have reproduced for many, many years. And geeks reproducing in this manner don't have to expend resources on dealing with the larval stages.:)
Never been on SL, but I think I'd draw a distinction behind someone with a critter avatar and a furry. My fiancee's far from a furry, but she likes rabbits enough that I could see her choosing to be a giant rabbit in SL - but she'd be pretty annoyed if someone tried to take that sexually.
Err... Unreal Tournament 3 on the PS3 supports modding.
Halo 3 on the X360 supports custom maps. I gave a friend an idea for an indirect-fire artillery level not long ago, and he's still having fun sorting out the kinks.
Your statements were correct for the previous generation of consoles; they are no longer valid for all games on current-gen consoles.
I can store 80 gigs of data. 160 if I use a doubler. I can only hold three movies, and I had to give up my childhood memories... just to store the Lord of the Rings trilogy? I wish I had just bought Blu-Ray discs.
Wow, I think you just about defined 'troll' with your post here. I happen to like my PS3 and there's no need to rationalize it or buy additional PS2's.
Now, if you want to see rationalization, I have a friend who's struggling to find a reason why he should buy more games for his 360 after it just got back from its second RROD return. Of course, he owns a PS3 too, so the only thing he's buying on the 360 from now on are exclusives.

Sound went away? My wife's ps3 uses sound over HDMI, it's running the latest firmware revision and she hasn't complained any...

Actually, I would be very amused to watch MS try to justify shutting down a Pink Pistols chapter...
Microsoft's got lots of clubs, actually. Including an employee gun club, with a private discussion forum.
http://www.gcmsweb.org/
I'm extremely pro-gun, but I am kind of amused at the thought that yes, Microsoft IS forming a militia and DOES intend to rule the world. :)
That's ok, myself and the guys at #kplug-militia are gun-toting Linux users and we've probably got enough firepower to take 'em on...
My understanding is that folks use "spike" as a term for male genitalia. Ever wondered about "spiketv", TV for guys...?

It's funny that you should mention the Amiga in connection with the PS3... check out what one of the early Amiga guys is doing now:

BLASPHEMER! The Sigbyterians take offense to your assertion that God has named Colt as His chosen manufacturer!

My wife's rabbits nibble on anything they can already. The last thing I want is for my gaming console to actually taste GOOD.
Or, there's always Gamefly and rentals. When you've just rented a game, you really don't care if it only lasts a few hours before you beat it.

Depends on whether you're talking race or culture. You can't change your race, but you can choose your culture, to a degree.
