No, SF teams with GLID's were lasing them for the "smart" bombs. Many other conflicts? First used in 1989 in Panama, the Desert Storm, Bosnia, Afghanistan, OIF. Never used against first line AA or Airforces. It's a good plane, just never truly tested against the foe it was designed to fight.
THe F4's and AH64's took out all the radars, so that there was nothing but old school AAA. Kind of hard to prove the effectiveness of stealth when there are no enemies willing to light up a radar.
Where you sit tends to determine where you stand.
I don't know about that. Durring Desert Shield the Airforce used F4J Wild Weasles and AH-64's to take out radar sites before the "stealth" boys even shoed themselves in theater. The Serbians are not exactly on the top of the world food chain either. I still have serious doubts about our stealth aircraft, may have something to do with them missing their targets in Panama and lots of dead soldiers due to that...
Missing option, move to where the food and jobs are. Using a rocket propeled spear and then a chainsaw to carve up the carcas is not "preserving" any heritage....
I may be wrong, but doesn't M$ charge OEM's a per processor fee, regardless of the OS installed on the machine? I seem to remember this from many years ago that this was one reason no OEM would start selling Linux, they would have to pay M$ for a license for a machine that would have Linux installed on it.
Well there is a body of law around the concept of "constructive service", if you know about the case, know about the attempt to serve you, then you may be deemed to have been served. Similar is some ways to service by public notice, which is allowed in some cases.
I didn't see anything about FF3 not running on older hardware, only older OS's. I have a laptop that shipped with Win98 on it, and it will run FF3 with no problem I am sure, since it is now running a very modern version of Linux. If you want FF3 and you are running ME, just drink the koolaid and install Linux.
This looks like a pre-packaged chapter 11. The management has already put together financing and the outcome is nearly predetermined. 6 months in a chapter 11 is way to short for anything else. This should allow them to dump some debt, restructure some, and emerge in far better shape.
The US government gives 0 credibility to the UN, I know some other governments do give it more attention, but really, is a bureaucratic body where you want to look for advice? You will get the least common denominator that offends nobody, watered down BS.
Um, if people are using the UN as their source for IT information, they deserve what they get. The UN is just a larger, less organized, more inefficient verion of our government. Like I would look to congress to advise me about software issues. MS will reach out to control whatever they can, but it only makes them look more defensive and desperate. If they really held free software in such low reguard, they would not dain to comment on it. Instead they look, more and more lately, like they are afraid of it. They need more help with spin control than Carl Rove.
I would guess that the Act did not authorize criminal penalties for violations, without creating a criminal cause of action there is no way to charge them. Simply, the state of Texas did not make it a crime to violate the Act, only civil penalties. Not to mention that it is extermely rare (Arthur Anderson is the only one I know of) for a corporation to be criminally charged. The problem is, a corporation is a person in the law, hard to make a corporation serve time. The only purpose for charging Arthur Anderson was that as a felon the corporation could not represent people befor the SEC and IRS, thus it killed their business.
lack of any form of control had worked very well, and the internet is a perfect example of anarchy in action. Absolute freedom has led to unthought of inovation, stifling this with government oversite would be a huge step backwards. The internet is a place where people have the ability to do anything, and the requirement of deciding what they will or will not view. This is truely democratic, unfortunately, most people do not want freedom, they want pre-digested content sanitized for thier use. Blah. If they regulate the internet, I suggest we create a new network communication protical. Or, maybe, we can just meet in person.

A Closer Look at SUSE 10

Um... maybe because nobody installs windows, or OSX on a blank box... but most everyonehe installs linux on a box that was either blank or had another OS preinstalled. Get a grip, the install is very important for potential new user. When was the last time you tried to install windows... for me it was 3.11... other than that, it has always been pre intalled.
Nothing beats Enlightenment for eyecandy, and inovative window management... but I too would like to see more on light wieght GUI's. I have really been impressed with rescent develpement of XFCE.
I know if I was one of the people held longer than I was supposed to due to the glitch I'd be frigging irate. I gree totally, when dealing with peoples lives there must be a human in the loop. Don't need filing cabinets either, intake documents should all be archived in.pdf.

It was a bad idea from the word go.
Not according to the Supreme Court... there are several cases where it has upheld jurisdiction after a person was brought into custody by ER.
Ever heard of Extraterritorial Rendition?

Slackware has even shifted to 2.6.x
Knoppix does I believe.
qtParted for one.

That's because 586 and 686 were already owned by Smith & Wesson, AFAIK.

The Atari Mindlink was the first thing that I thought of when I saw this.

If you don't believe that dental health is important just ask Patrick Volkerding, the most likely reason for his healthissues is poor dental health.
