Welcome to the politicians that money can buy. The level of corruption is so high that shocks me, it should shock you too.

I do not believe that treaty is going to come to pass for one reason.

    Here is that reason.

The world is changing and the normal media outlets are dieing, slowly but surely. This change is going over rather fast. As the internet is coming more popular, the tv is loosing it appeals. New music isn't necessary good. People have a lot of old cd's that they can covert to mp3's when they want.

People are going to move over to pc games more and more. Even more so going to the internet to read and be part of something community like and so forth.

MPAA and RIAA are doomed, they just don't know it yet.

This is just the newest example I know of YouTube stupid behavior), and they do so and aren't even ashame of them self.

As an man interested in earthquakes, I have been watching the aftershock pattern over there and I think that there might be a small chance (or large, depending on things) of an aftershock that is Mw7.0 at least. But it also appears that the stress in the crust in this area has moved east and west of the current epicenter.

The reason for the current massive damage due to this earthquake is because it did happen at only 10 km depth. If it had happened at 40 or 80 km depth, there would have been less damage as less energy from the earthquake would have reached the surface.

There are going to be many, many aftershocks in this area for the next two months or more. Most of them from mb4.5 up to Mw6.5. Creating more damage to already badly damaged houses in the nearby area.

Good list of aftershocks can be seen here, along with information on the main quake.

I am fairly sure that this event now is part of normal movement of the fault line, due to happen every 20 to 50 years.

People in the area should expect aftershocks in the next one or two weeks, maybe longer. Btu the aftershock pattern depends on many factors that I don't know all.

For those interested the waveform of the earthquake was recorded by people interested in recording earthquakes in nearby states. The plots can be seen here, http://www.simnet.is/jonfr500/earthquake/othersten.htm
