I guess you have never heard of the Verizon Hub [vzw.com]?
Actually I have but I like 96% of the rest of the worlds population don't live in the USA. The other problem is the Verizon hub is about selling services not using your mobile sim card for out going calls instead of a land line. Siemens offer a very simple solution that does this with their cordless Gigaset handsets already but not a copper solution that can use your normal POTS telephones.
I know you can get cordless telephones with built in sim card support that supports up to 6 handsets around the home (Siemens Gigaset comes to mind) but no one as far as I know is making anything that interfaces the mobile provider to your normal telephones/copper, maybe this needs to be looked at ?
Modern game makers now have music scores and scripts and god help us "plots!!". The reason people are spending more money on games is pretty obvious, modern games are replacing movies and then throwing in a interactive layer movies totally lack. Its a bit like when movies got sound ie talkies and then watching those still pushing the silent era format go broke.
you get some idiot playing with his FoF (Friend or Foe) tag while in a active combat zone
Soldier 1 "Hai look at me, now Im a good guy [takes FOF tag off], now Im a"
BANG!!.......Thump
Soldier 2 "I swear, we lose more first timers that way than any other"
Am I the only one finding that searching for products and "best prices" on google seriously sux. I keep being sent to product search sites that represent a cartel of dealers and often they dont even sell what I want thus wasting my time on some brown bagged Google payola website. Also these cartel search sites often are not the best place to actually find a good price or range of related products. Google really needs to fix this as Im sick of being directed to sites that don't seem to have anything to do with the 1-3 keywords I input. You know if I enter "review, Widget 1,.au" you would expect a product review of widget 1 on an Australian website, nope you get a page in Taiwan for an associated product with prices that mean nothing to me.
In Australia we have recently had the fire ant invade our island nation with some very nasty environmental results. After years of study the CSIRO have discovered an inherent weakness with the fire ants colonies. The queen is the only ant able to breed in a colony so if you disable her the colony dies. So what we do here in the land of the sun and over sized rabbits called kangaroos is put the fire ant the queen on the pill, so far it has worked very well but like everything needs to be managed.
All things aside the reality is when Microsoft created the first Xbox they (Microsoft) had already poured hundreds of millions into DirectX thus the Xbox was a no brainer. Apple on the other hand is miles behind when it comes to having a mature multi media/gaming toolset/API so I think he (Richard Taversham) will find things are not as simple over at Apple.
One problem I have with clean coal (always sounds like an oxymoron to me) is there is no "proven" storage method yet (it's all numbers on paper) and it will be another 20-30 years before we can comfortable (if ever) confirm any effects. Now considering clean coal is an unknown and will be for another twenty (20) years "at least" you have to wonder if spending the billions ear marked for clean coal on fusion technology will give everyone a better return. There are test/research fusion reactors going on line (Sth Korea have a research fusion reactor going on line later this year) all over the world. I can't help but feel that the clean coal path is like going down the valve research path in the 1960's because it will keep glass blowers employed when transistors have just been invented as did many US consumer electric companies in the 60's (and got their financial's handed to them by the Japanese who went with transistors). Yes the US does spend a lot on Fusion research but the amount of money invested is a small when compared to the amount of money people spend on mobile phone ring tones.

This is a typical case of top down management with flashy MBA's looking at BS numbers from large entities with conflicting interests (sound familiar, if not then look-up Arthur Anderson or Enron, conflict of interest, on Google). I can bet some IT company that is a Microsoft partner fed the MLB board some lame numbers showing that Microsoft is on everyones desktop thus Silverlight will be a no brainer. The fact the Microsoft technology is immature and the competition (Adobe flash) is extremely mature with lots of supporting web applications/mind-share is totally ignored or forgotten.
"There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live--did live, from habit that became instinct--in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized."
Is it me or did Nvidia's and Intels marketing dept guys talk to each other, then decide if they got the companies to sue each other it would hide the fact that sales are down over 50% from both the board and the stock holders.
Some of the latest research into Bells own lab notes is showing that he saw Grays pre patent applications for a liquid based microphone before hand. In fact what gave it away was his (Bells) notes are an exact copy of Grays patent that and the fact Bell never even looked at this type of configuration until he went to Washington then changed his research completely.

Just run codeweavers (pre hacked version of wine) or wine (do your own hacks) to get Office 2007 running on Linux
