Well IE gets most of it's "popularity" due to the fact that it is on a majority of PC's and some macs for the basic fact that it's on every microsoft operating system.... sadly IE lets in tons of spyware, doesn't offer a popup blocker or any gadgets and gizmos to make it run better. It's a terrible browser but it's distributed through the windows OS's out there.... therefore it gets lots of "popularity" whether the user knows it or not.
Also another reason that those Microsoft Windows users put up with the problems of IE is that a majority of today's society lack formal computer knowledge. They are afraid to try the Open Source items of today such as firefox and mozilla suite. They are intimidated by the "unknown" to them.
In consiquence IE isn't a very good browser but receives more attencion than that of it's open source rivals. Thus the IE7 boycott will result in a war between the techies and those who fear change.
If you use it for a phone it looks like we went to the 80's and stole one of those car phones.... with all the other cool stuff out, why buy an N-gage.
If you like a webcomic, and it has great attributes... why try to steal from it and depreciate the people who work hard on those webcomics???
On the otherhand If you are developing a webcomic and it has great attributes... why not copywrite or trademark your work???

Last Christmas huderdeds if not thousands of people didn't get there x-boxes until February. Why would people go out and buy a new console when they just bought one. Personally I think that Microsoft shouldn't give up on the X-box just yet

Personally the problem with the release of the PSP is that everyone was fighting over the Xboxs and the Nitendo DS's this past christmas that people are just now receiving them from the over demand of them. This is probably why the PSP's release was not at a good time, with the picture Ipod and the Creative Zen Mp3 and various other media veiwing devices coming out at this time. The PSP's problem was just that it got drowned out by all the other tech. hubub out there and it's price tag isn't what people aren't wanting right now.
My ATI Radeon 9600 cost me about $65.00, People tell me that ATI sucks, but hey if a guys got a tight budget I'm gonna use the parts with the price that work! haven't had any problems yet (computer frying in the background)
