From the video, the spacecraft seems to be travelling at the opposite direction of earth's translation (i.e. clockwise in the ecliptic plane, viewing from sun's north to south hemisphere), because the dayside is at the left, and the Earth is, well, becoming smaller...
But, this
diagram of messenger's orbit from the article in wikipedia shows that the spacecraft travells in the counter-clockwise direction (same as the planets)... so, I would conclude that the spacecraft speed is less than the Earth's orbital speed.
The first 18 players who get successfully connected to the server play in the field, plus two managers (the roles are assigned ramdomly... who cares)
The subsequent 57,545 connections plays the very important role of spectators seated in a replica of the Yankee stadium. During the game they can shout, drink beer and buy hot-dogs.
Now, if they do an MMOG version of blernsball, I'm on it!
The midi instruments in my 486 was so annoying that I usually turned off the music in all of my games.
So basicaly I played a silent doom (except for the sound FX), until two or three years later, when I bought a casio keyboard midi-capable.
Motivated by curiosity, I bought a midi cable, connected it to my 486, configured and started doom... what a surprise! The music was very nice, there was a map from episode 3 which used some chorus sound and a electric guitar, it was very post-apocalyptical...
Ok, my casio keyboard may not be the "best of the best", but the improvement from my soundcard was appreciable (at least for me)
It's a sad thing the midi instruments in the (then) most popular soundcards (i. e. sound blaster 16, which was my case) were so bad. The quality of game music from the 90's was simply lost for most of the people because of this. Duke nukem 3D also had very nice music during the game, but my sb16 turned it out to a childish mess of "noise"...
So I'm glad somebody made those remixes, so the rest of the people who never listened to it with the proper equipment (a good midi instrument!) can give it another try...
Cue that scene where Robocop catches a bullet fired to a police.
I've always wondered about the real physics of that scene, maybe robocop's fingers would be destroyed, or the bullet deformed... all that kinetic energy has to go somewhere...
So, my suggestion is New Zealand for the Aurora Australis (of course antartic bases are ideal)
Anyway, if you visit souther Chile or Argentina in january or february you can see Noctilucent clouds. Southern noctilucent clouds are far less known than Northern noct. clouds... but also are very beautiful
Take a look at one:
Southern NLC, maybe the only picture on the net...
Hilf says he spends a lot of time "making Linux more transparent to Microsoft managers." He does a lot of educating around the open-source development, testing, deployment and licensing models, he said.
So far, how is the reception of open-source models from Microsoft managers? Are they interested, skeptic...
I found here a sample of AKR emission from earth's magnetosphere. This sample has a higher frequency shift than the one from the first link in the fine article, but also I think they are similar, in both cases structures that oscilates with high to low-frequencies, and then high again, can be heard (that, or I need new earphones:)
Also, one of the samples from cassini is very similar (IMO) to this sample of a chorus emission at earth's magnetosphere (more info here, in the sense that there are some structures rising from low to high-frequency.
Yes, vg music is very important to create the game atmosphere, but sometimes silence and some sound fx are enough...
I'm thinking on Half-Life I, sure it had an occasional music between stages, but for example the first monster scene (the tentacles), with the metalic sound of the beatings and the chewbacca-like roars were enough to keep the tension up.
Another example is duke3d. When I installed it I didn't set up the midi output, so I didn't know it had music during the game. It was not necessary at all.
Anyway, these two games are examples with good quality sound effects (echoes at closed rooms when shooting, ambient effects...). Maybe sound effects can replace music in FPS games, while in RPG games music can be more important.

Ok I got a question about the spacecraft's orbit!
From the video, the spacecraft seems to be travelling at the opposite direction of earth's translation (i.e. clockwise in the ecliptic plane, viewing from sun's north to south hemisphere), because the dayside is at the left, and the Earth is, well, becoming smaller...

Question: is that correct?
Image a beo.... oh fuck it. Nevermind.
Yeah, after all, netcraft confirms it: beowulf cluster jokes are dying.
Neutral President: I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
"If slashdot had affected us as geeks we'd be coding in dark rooms, munching doritos and posting repetitive comments"
Sweet lord!!! It's Half-Life with system administrators!!!!!
Someone MUST to create a mod for Half-Life with this!!!!
Now that sarge went stable, we can terraform Mars!!!
apt-get moo
Using a "while true; do ... done", Mars will get all those greenhouse emissions we need to raise its temperature.
Funny stuff.

Ok, back to work.
Forget South America, the auroral oval never reaches Cape Horn's latitude:
Some images of the auroral oval from NOAA.

How do I know that? Well, I'm from here!

Maybe you would like to compare the spectrograms:
Earth's AKR emission.
Saturn's AKR emission.
Also, one of the samples from cassini is very similar (IMO) to this sample of a chorus emission at earth's magnetosphere (more info here, in the sense that there are some structures rising from low to high-frequency.
Sadly, the spectrogram is not so clear, like the one from cassini
Very interesting stuff. Yes, I did some work in that area. No, I am not a space physicist. And finally, yes, I have this page in my bookmarks.
So here is where Bender's head is buried!!!

So, can it be considered a maser weapon?
OMG you have just explained this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coming soon on a illegal DVD!!!
First recursive study!
In almost all the images there is a reference scale in Mpc/h.
Why? Parsec is a measure for distance already, isn't it?
