  1. ragdoll cat.. you'r kidding, right? on How To Keep Rats From Eating My Cables? · · Score: 1

Please do your homework before purchasing a cat. Ragdoll cats are just as likely to run away from a rat as to attack it. They are extremely docile and won't even defend themselves when they are being attacked by another cat. If you want to get a good rat catching cat do your homework and speak with the group you are adopting it from.

mod_perl has worked under Windows for many years. No need to compile any of it yourself either, as many people provide pre-compiled binaries for you (hint: google is your friend).

Specifically, I can speak for the binary copy of Apache 1.3 found on apache.org, and ActiveState's perl port of 5.6. They both work good together, and under Windows 2000 all the major features seem to work fine. Obviously, some of the unix-isms that don't exist under Win32 must be worked around (shared memory? proper forking? proper select() calls?) but it still works.

    Does that answer your question?

Yep, that's right, you had to buy another processor.

Most vendors offered patches to the operating system that rendered the f00f bug moot. Feel free to grep your Linux source tree if you don't believe me. Purchasing a new CPU was also a fix, albiet a costly one compared to applying a small patch.

The answer for a video decoder is 10 cents per unit with a $40,000 cap.

You misplaced that comma. Its a $400,000 cap.

That 10 cents also ONLY covers video OR audio. If you want both you must pay 20 cents per unit, with a different cap than listed above. If you want 'high-resolution stereo' or 'multichannel' audio you'll be paying another 20 cents per decoder.

While it is still cheap, its not quite as cheap as you make it sound.

Just because recent versions of IE don't support it doesn't mean it doesn't still exist. And your quote of 8 years is too much of a stretch too. But thanks for playing.

As well as this choice quote, "Allofmp3 is paying the songwriters, via the collection agency ROMS, but they are acting without the permission of the other copyright holders." So.. uh.. yeah, the song writer gets paid. But the artist who performs the song does not. When I buy Live and Let Die by Guns N Roses, Paul McCartney (and wife?) gets paid, but Axel Rose and crew do not. I know that is not legal in MY state.

Yeah, God forbid that an American worker be allowed to take a holiday.

Most American employers give paid holidays to full time workers. Its also common to give 2 weeks paid vacation after the first year or two. Many places will continue to give you more vacation, and after working there for 5 or 6 years you'll have a full 4 weeks of vacation a year.

Therefor, you still get paid for a full 52 weeks a year. At least, I know I do. I work tech support, so I get less than 6 paid holidays a year, but I do get my full two weeks paid vacation (and 5 sick days).

So yes, God forbid that American employees can't hold a full time job for two years, so that they can reap these benefits.

Trust me, 5 years ago I was re-installing Windows every few months. Since then I've matured and learned a decent amount about Windows. Because of that its been over a year since I've had to re-install Windows 2000 Pro, or Windows XP on any of the four machines I admin.
