Xbox 360 needs a price drop too IMO. People are waiting for that to buy it. If it was 100$ less for the premium version, you can be sure that it would sell like hotcakes.
I do, and a lot of other peeps do. You must be in the minority because almost everyone I talk to still loves the final fantasy series and it will probably make them buy a ps3 just because of it.
I don't have a problem with playing alone in mmorpg either. I played my share of WoW and did solo quite a bit although I preferred playing with people. It is just that you don't really have a story involving you. You are not really important in the world. I know Guild War is a bit different but I would not call it a real MMo though. It is more of a Diablo clone and instead of having chat rooms to choose the game you want to play, you do it in the city with your character, everything else is instance, a la Diablo.
It just isn't the same and I doubt they will ever be able to achieve a real single player experience in a mmorpg world.
ps: I did play Guild wars and did not really like it, but that was probably because I was playing world of warcraft at that time and it was so much better. I may try it again.
There is something wrong with playing single player in an mmo but I understand what you mean. The quest and atmosphere is usually better in a single player game though as they can affect the whole storyline. The problem with mmo is that the world feel so static. They need to keep the same content so that everyone can enjoy it and not only 1 person.
Final fantasies get different stories everytime. How many games could you make about travelling into time to save the world?
Chrono Trigger was fun. We don't need a sequel... A remake or port would be fun though.
"go online and share that experience with millions of players from around the world."
They seem pretty optimistic that the game is going to be a hit. On all the sites that I went people are just bitching about the game saying that they won't buy it. I am pretty sure that it is going to be a good game but I wonder if it is going to be a hit or not. People who knows about the game are all mostly hardcore gamers that follow gaming news a lot. Most people don't know at all that the game was created by the people who did the Diablo games and they will probably never know. I wonder if they are allowed to put a "From the creator of Diablo" seal on the box. Not having a Blizzard logo on the box sure does not help either.
My thought is that they should have made a name for themselves before trying to put some monthly fees. They heard the reaction before when they announced it but it was not official yet and should have learned from that. Maybe it was already too late though.
And lastly, as for myself, I will probably not pay monthly but will probably try the game anyways and maybe play coop with my girlfriend over Lan or with some friend online for free.
I just doubt they will sell millions (with an "S") copies of the game, or even 1 million.
Get over it with the fan making a lot of noise. Yes it does, mine does too. But I don't really hear it when playing a game or watching a movie and I don't even crank the sound up.
Take a look a the quake series... Quake 4 is just like quake 3 multiplayer with better graphics but unlike quake 3, quake 4 was NOT popular.
People preferred to continue playing quake 3 or just to play another game. If you want to play the same game again, why not just reinstall the old one you like instead?
This is a NEW game, they can do whatever they feel like they want to do and they don't have to listen to the old uberfans.
I think the biggest mistake a company can make is listen to all the fanboy whinning instead of making something new..
exactly!
Too many people see changes to their beloved FPS games as something bad for competition. They are so used to play 1 way that they don't want to try a new way. I wonder if those people are even having fun anymore.. Every time they get kill they need to break something because of the frustration. (Like a mouse or a keyboard)
hahaha yeah, he will never post again and tomorrow we should see an article in slashdot where another kid get arrested for threat vs his high-school.
I enjoyed Fallout Tactics too. Funny how people seem to ignore that game..
It would not be fidel to system shock 2 if you had almost unlimited ammo.

You call people pathetic fucks? You should read yourself seriously.

What if guitar hero 3 turns out to be great or even better than guitar hero 2?
But worldwide, there is more 360 then ps3 and the games does sell everywhere in the world.
There is also already a Final fantasy on the 360 even if it is a mmorpg.
I don't really care though as I have a ps3.

Not everyone has the knowledge to do that. It will eliminates the majority of pirates.
His TV does support hdtv... What do you think 1080i is? Not everyone has money for changing TV every 5 years...

What about the one on the playstation 2 game, Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, was it good?

Normally any extension could be used if the format is supported but I guess the 360 check the extension before checking if the format is supported.

There was some hints that xvid was going to be supported also? I don't see anything mentioning it. Was is included in the update?
Red Steel is using Unreal engine 2.5
