After reading this steaming bag of crap in its entirety, I have decided this has to be one of the most biased, uneducated articles I have ever read. I'll save you the time. Basically it is an non-stop onslaught of ass-hattery such as,
* No gaming on Linux.
* No gaming on Macs, but you can use Garageband, iLife, iMovie, iPhoto, iRectalThermometer...
* It's become something of a truism that Linux is more secure than Windows, but that doesn't say much for how secure it is on its own.
* The Mac operating system itself is extremely secure.
I admit: I may be a Linux zealot, but at least when I write an article, I do some research before and try to portray an accurate and fair comparison. Save yourself some time and don't even bother reading this: it will make you dumber. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.
Not me. Sound frequency has to be downgraded (especially the bass) when converting music to vinyl format as the deeper resonance bass can cause the groove to intersect when cutting.
Freecycle for chopping loops. IMHO, Linux is on the way, but nearly there yet (as far as music production goes). By no means, does it not contain the capability to handle the functionality, but rather the hardware vendors not willing to play the driver game.
Hopefully, the Linux community will adopt some of this, as some of it can be utilized for accessibility. After perusing some patents from the 1800's, it's clear that Google has made some headway in this department. There were errors in translation (namely K's and R's/P's and B's), but for several documents, things come across as intended.
Is everyone proud? We just witnessed the future birth of a warning label that when applied will make people say, "Why the hell would you have that on a warning label for a sponge?"
Trust me, my best friend is blind, and this is something that should have been done a long time ago. As far as accessibility for ATM's go, quite a few have headphone jacks in my area. The biggest point of contention is the people that had you the money. My friend keeps track of his finances in his head and has been ripped off a couple of times by underhanded scum working a register, and it is not as though he has a lot of money as it is. The real question is: when will it happen, not if it'll happen. I seem to remember a lot of people bitching about building wheel-chair ramps for access to buildings before they were common place, but it had to be done. Most of all, this is the friggin' governement and they should be setting the standard; not trying to avoid it.
I've tried out numerous flavors of Linux and even (gasp) BSDs, after being a Dos/Windows user for over 12 years. As a matter of fact, I've dumped Windows on all my machines but my game box. If you aren't afraid to read to RTFM, then generally you won't have any problems. The most significant issues regarding Linux/BSD resolves around hardware/drivers and gaming. If vendors would work with developers, then the switch would be easier for many people, IMHO.
The Earth goes through cycles of this every tens-of-thousnads of years or so. The problem is, it's not always a simple reversal. They've provided comparisons of past changes and estimates of how the future changes could progress: there's holes and poles everywhere. The Discovery channel had a special about the aurora borealis that discusses it in detail, unfortunately, I couldn't find a link...
