  1. Oh Yeah, and the world is FLAT! on New Discovery Disproves Quantum Theory? · · Score: 1
Please everyone - if he's right, and can produce a working device - then HE IS RIGHT.

Gotta love the "crackpot" comments. He might be - but give it a chance.

Based on some of the closed minded comments posted - some of you must have forgotten what we come from, and why we have what we have. Remember our history - brilliant minds were killed for mentioning things like "The Earth Orbits The Sun" - KILL HIM!

By inventing, breaking the rules, and learning we strech our limits, and achieve greater things.

To say that Physics as we know it is done, and perfect - that's a crackpot statement, right along with "Intelligen Design".

If he's wrong, and never produces the proof - then tear him apart.

  2. Re:Subscription is the only alternative to piracy on How Many Times Should We Pay For Our Software? · · Score: 1

So that's why IBM, Microfost, Sun, Apple, EA (and on and on) have all failed. Silly argument. No - more resonable prices, a more moral (read: capitalist puppets) social climate, and better law enforecment will get rid of piracy. Keep in mind, no matter what the BSA or RIAA says - it's still socially ok to priate software, as long as you aren't on the street corner selling it.

Powerpoint is holding me back from having Linux on my desktop? Damn - I knew powerpoint sucked, but that's just shocking.

I don't know what I'd do without all those time wasting presentations.

  4. So? on Microsoft Takes Aim At Google · · Score: 2, Insightful
MS wants to be the "biggest and best" at everything. That's what a monopoly does. Google is doing well because they innovate, and create.

Get a f'n clue Bill - I don't want MS (or anyone else) to be the only name in my household and workplace.

We socialists do hate paid advertising. Thanks for the free plug!

But please don't call me left-wing, I love the NRA, capital punishment, and Wikipedia - ads or not.

Ads are a fact of life - someone has to schill to make ANYTHING happen. Nothing is free (as in Beer).

  7. I Agree, but... on Violating A Patent As Moral Choice · · Score: 1, Redundant

Is another Taiwanese company making and profiting form the drug?? I firmly believe that patents should not get in the way of human rights, emergencies, etc. - however, if another company (or Government for that matter) profits from sale - Why have patents?

  10. DRM on TiVo Buries the VCR · · Score: 5, Insightful

The more restrictive and pervasive DRM gets, I for one am sure to keep a good 'ol VCR and analog TV around. Not as good as DVD, or HD - but hell, it works just fine. I am a "quality" snob, but I will not surrender my Fair Use rights for that quality.

Even better - go with one of the "unlimited" (I won't give them pub - if you don't know what - just stay away) services that has such a restrictive DRM that the music you've purchased is worthelss if you cancel your subscription. I won't pay to download SHIT untill the product is MINE. Free to do whatever I want with it - isn't that the point of buying it?
