What if they were wearing night-vision goggles? I was told by a police helicopter pilot that a laser pointer looks like "God's light saber" with night-vision goggles, and if he sees one, he turns around immediately. He also said it could cause permanent eye damage, although that claim seemed a little suspect to me.
I can steal from the store - but the punishment doesn't fit the crime. I swallow it and go to a store and buy my food because it's the best available choice.
So what you are saying is that the criteria you use in deciding whether or not to steal something is what the punishment is if you get caught?
Interesting philosophy you have there. If I lose my wallet, I hope you aren't the one who finds it.

Sure, recently. Couple of thousand years ago, it was probably much more likely you would die from poor vision before you could breed than from heart disease.
When I was a director of engineering, I noted they had the opposite effect. I knew I had to pay more to keep the REALLY GOOD people I had (this was leading up to 2001, granted), but the board of directors kept telling me that their salary surveys said we were already paying too much.
Salary surveys don't tell the whole story. Talent counts for a LOT. And my staff was worth more than "standard."

I think the GP is referring to this.
Two centuries?
Interestingly, because of your post, the fourth link on the google search is now this page.
I find it somewhat disturbing that I knew that already, at least to 2 significant digits...
No wonder they're not reliable...
My daughter's fifth grade TEACHER wrote "You COULD OF written more about this" on one of her homework assignments. Could of? Could've? Could have?

I thought it was because you could roll them when they were made out of chocolate?

It's supposed to be: http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/websites2.htm
I believe it is also required for Federal websites.
We have one here in California http://www.hitchingpost1.com/ADA.html:
Luckily, a federal judge has recently agreed that this is inappropriate and has enjoined this group from filing additional suits.
