Broad strokes here, but most Asian cultures seem to have this answer yes to everything issue, and not just with employees, with customers too. I've explained stuff to Japanese customers and I ask if they understand, the answer is always "Yes", the trick is to get them to explain it back to you and when they fumble you can go over it again, that way they get to save face by not saying "No we do not understand."
The Soviets were some of the worst polluters ever. Not even counting stuff like Chernobyl, you have things like the Aral Sea which was completely devastated and there are a number of abandoned polar nuclear lighthouses, which are as bad as you can imagine.
Or take a minute to complain to those device manufacturers. The more they get bitched at the sooner they'll update. It makes more sense to updates the couple of million devices than the billions of web sites.
It doesn't look like Microsoft is charging you 9$ to install this application, it looks like a third party is charging you 9$ to do it and Microsoft doesn;t have a problem with either the application or charging you 9$. If you want to write your own app to do the same thing and release it for free, go right ahead.
Huh, when I go to dot-bit.bit I get server not found, just like the more than 99% of the population that won't be manually adding the dot-bit nameservers to their DNS. If this was the answer, he would just run his own home DNS and tell everyone wanting info from him to add that.
Agreed, I gave up on Cygwin because it crashes too often for my taste and when it crashes in one Cygwin app, it crashes for all Cygwin apps at the same time, so that long script you have running in the background just hosed itself because you just wanted to run a quick little thing.
Since Windows XP SP2 I think it was the firewall is turned on by default(or at least really really encourages you to do so) and blocks ping responses and was released August 25, 2004.
Many places ban eating animals that most people would consider "pet" type animals. There is no nationwide ban on cat or dog meat in the US, but there is one for horse meat, Germany banned dog meat since 1986, South Australia has banned cat and dog since 2004. These may have been repealed, but laws like this are not uncommon and there may be individual state laws in the US.
Baen also includes in a number of their hardbound books a CD that usually contains, that book, a number of other books by the same author(most often any preceding books in the series) and quite often a number of other author's books all in many different ebook formats all without DRM. They also encourage you to distribute the CD by copying it to as many people as possible as long as you don't charge for it.
There are a couple of websites out there that also have archives of the CD. Baen is aware of these websites and has no problem with them.
Set up a server farm running popular music players playing only an artist the record companies have a very favorable contract (read that as ass raping contract) with, just spamming on it over and over, reporting "statistics."
I dropped my cable TV a while, not really able to get TV on an antenna. I was willing to go to Hulu to get my shows instead of just torrenting them, guess I'll skip the step of checking if Hulu has my shows.
I was not aware the right to privacy was an inherent right, if the government was not here to grant it to you, anyone can come along and spy on you all they want.
Oh poor baby, maybe if you were worth hiring, you'd be hired. The H1B's are there because you are not worth hiring at any price, so they might as well save some money and hire for cheap.

If it is useless then why do you care? Are you seriously going to use it for anything? Or are you just whining for whining's sake? If you are going to complain about copyright, do it for something someone would have a use for.
Insane amounts of money? 200$ a year is insane amounts of money? (14$ a month*12 month + 34$ a year for each expansion pack(an expansion pack is usually around 50$ and gets released less than once every two years)) for a game that is continually updated with new content. That is less than the cost of 4 new A title games that you will probably spend maybe 20 hours each on. WoW is one of the cheapest forms of entertainment around.

Saying the TSA agent is not to blame for all this, yes they are.
The Nazis were just "doing their jobs" like the TSA agents are.
They choose to be TSA agents, they choose to give invasive patdowns.
I choose not to fly and be molested.
Mod this guy up please.

http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/ is probably the best one out there.
There are also a number of free books on Baen's own website.
Funny, I have used Google Voice from the US with someone in Maylasia because Skype is such a turd of an app. Oh, and she was from Romania, not the US.

Apple consistent? less bloated?
The current version of Quicktime is no better than the version from 1999, 11 years ago. I guess it is consistently bad...

A little old, but... Mexican leaders are apparently mad at the US leaders for making Mexicans go back to Mexico.
