    Since Slashdot(OSTG) is a private company they can ban anyone for any reason.

    But, you know what else? The slashdot editors are free to ban me for typing "FUCK YOU", also. And I'm okay with that.

    As long as he gets a full tuition refund, I don't see a problem with this.
    He has the right to write, and they have the right to disagree and take action.

    As more and more desktop apps serve as an interface to a website, it'll become a lot easier to fix and deploy new functionality. This is a good thing.

    I disagree. Having this ability encourages software companies to release buggy and unfinished software before adequate testing is done.

    I think that is Carlin's greatest bit. In a somewhat related note, mass extinction has repeatedly been shown to actually increase the amount of species in the long run.

    Big volcano or comet => lizards inherit the earth. Big volcano or comet => mammals and birds inherit the earth. Etc.

    I have a question: Aren't class, order, genus, and family entirely arbitrary? Shouldn't we now classify living things entirely with genetics?

    This so called lack of empathy seems really scary to me. I always thought that religion could be avoided because we all have the ability act moral without the threat of eternal damnation.

    So did this loser ever copyright or patent the idea?

    Does he have any actual proof that this idea was his?

    Was he smart enough to make EA sign a contract and/or agreement to not use his idea(s) without his licensing or permission?

    If not, then he walked right in, and handed them his ideas, and there's really not anything he can do about it.

    Stupidity is not, nor should it ever be, rewarded.

    The best thing about the dreamcast was the ability to run NesterDC on it. You could burn your own disc with 100 nintendo games on it and play them without a mod chip or even a boot disk. NesterDC even supports save states and game genie codes.

    Who needs the Nintendo Revolution for that?

    I hope they do as good a job with RSS as they did with HTML! Actually, to be fair, Netscape was just as bad with that. But I did like the scrolling better than the blinking.
