Since Slashdot(OSTG) is a private company they can ban anyone for any reason.
On a side note: after reading my last post it looked like I was telling you to "F" off. That wasn't my intention.
You are the one who is wrong. (in my opinion, of course)
And guess what? I'm allowed to say that, and you are allowed to disagree. But, you know what else? The slashdot editors are free to ban me for typing "FUCK YOU", also. And I'm okay with that.
As long as he gets a full tuition refund, I don't see a problem with this. He has the right to write, and they have the right to disagree and take action.
I think that is Carlin's greatest bit. In a somewhat related note, mass extinction has repeatedly been shown to actually increase the amount of species in the long run.
Big volcano or comet => lizards inherit the earth. Big volcano or comet => mammals and birds inherit the earth. Etc.
This so called lack of empathy seems really scary to me. I always thought that religion could be avoided because we all have the ability act moral without the threat of eternal damnation. Maybe I was wrong? I hope not.
The best thing about the dreamcast was the ability to run NesterDC on it. You could burn your own disc with 100 nintendo games on it and play them without a mod chip or even a boot disk. NesterDC even supports save states and game genie codes.
How much of Ubuntu's praise comes from the free CDs that they give away? I just got mine last week (and again today), and while it is a great Distro, I don't really see what is so special about it.
...and Sega managed it because they were smart, they weren't trying to make a quick buck, they weren't over doing it with technology the world wasn't ready for,...
Heh, I think you misunderstood me. I don't actually use blinking or scrolling text. Maybe you clicked on my cannedgames.com link. Sure it's ugly, but I don't mind at all!
I hope they do as good a job with RSS as they did with HTML! Actually, to be fair, Netscape was just as bad with that. But I did like the scrolling better than the blinking.

Is Marquette a private school? Did they break any law?
IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU BOLD WHAT YOU SAY.

You are joking right? Watch The Matrix lately? It wasn't a documentary.
do you buy a car without a locking system and then whine when it gets stolen too?
I don't accept situations like that as inevitable.
Bill: "Life sucks."
Ted: "Then fucking do something about it."
Irony: IBM stressing the importance of open standards. (If this were 1985)
As more and more desktop apps serve as an interface to a website, it'll become a lot easier to fix and deploy new functionality. This is a good thing.
I disagree. Having this ability encourages software companies to release buggy and unfinished software before adequate testing is done.
Good job! Tow truck companies are the devil. (late post...)
Orcas (killer whales) are actually dolphins.

I have a question: Aren't class, order, genus, and family entirely arbitrary? Shouldn't we now classify living things entirely with genetics?

I hope not.
So did this loser ever copyright or patent the idea?
Does he have any actual proof that this idea was his?
Was he smart enough to make EA sign a contract and/or agreement to not use his idea(s) without his licensing or permission?
If not, then he walked right in, and handed them his ideas, and there's really not anything he can do about it.
Stupidity is not, nor should it ever be, rewarded.
Having faith in other people should never be considered stupid. Naive maybe, but not stupid.
Being an ass is not, nor should it ever be, accepted.
What's to stop Microsoft or Sony from creating their own copy of this controller design?

Who needs the Nintendo Revolution for that?
hilarious biographies
That's a bit of an exaggeration.

Obviously God is testing our faith.

9 versions! No wonder I can never get RSS to work properly.

If there is a punchline, I don't get it. But, I still find it funny in a 'silly' sort of way. Especially when I picture Ric Morranis as Dark Helmet.
And the "g" on this one too: 12-googleplex.gif
Weird.
