  1. Makes sense to me. on Google to Buy Opera? · · Score: 2, Interesting

This makes perfect sense to me. I think with all of the web services that google develops, they don't want to be inhibited by bugs in Microsoft's Internet Explorer. They could also get people to switch to Opera pretty easily, as most people already use the search engine, and all it would take is a small "download this to enable extra features" button.

I'm surprised they haven't done this already.

That's stupid. Many, if not most of these users have never used anything better than these laptops. Say we went back 10 years and had one of these instead of an old 386... we wouldn't be complaining about lack of features!

Also, standardised and limited hardware actually make development on the babies a whole lot easier than for a PC, provided there are good development tools.

    From the kotaku link:
"Adam and Donna are nice people, in and of themselves.
The negative aspects of NeoPets, all came from the side
    of Scientology-Oriented business structure/psyche. From
the very get-go, any employee who applies for a job,
will be faced with a couple of personality screening
tests. I shit you not, I had a more comfortable time
with my SAT's in high school! A lot of people make fun
of Scientologists in an ignorant sort of way; they don't
really know what goes on behind the curtains, but I
assure you, it's not pretty. In hindsight, it's a little
ironic that many of the execs are part of the cult, and
many fledglings didn;t seem to get promoted to that
level without first converting (this was the case while
I was there). A mere observation, more than anything
else. Unfortunately, many businesses that visit/partner
up with these guys will look at the architecture of this
successful business, and will be inclined to adopt it
for themselves. It is for this reason alone that I want
    to see NeoPets fail."

Some people would rather sit on the couch than in front of the computer. Dorm rooms are often limited for space too, but I guess a TV tuner card would solve that problem. Anyways, I guess if you can afford an Apple Cinema display than that would make a hell of an HDTV.

Sure it might be easy to get the games onto the Revolution platform, but due to the lower specs they obviously won't be as good, so why bother? Go with the PS3 or 360 and get the same game in all its graphical glory.

Because it's more expensive maybe? And because not everyone buys all 3 systems! And because without an HD TV, you wont see a huge difference.

Think about it. The X-Box had the best specs of the last generation, but the lowest spec machine (ps2) had the most sales.
