The name Sony use to be one I related to quality but anymore I steer clear.
When did the word 'anymore' replace the word 'now'? Not an attack on you, because I hear it everyday. It just seems weird to me whenever I hear or read it.
For me, the biggest selling point is that it is the least toy-like in appearance of the three. The DS may be fun, but I think it looks a little too much like a kid's toy.
From what I hear, the "peak oil" crisis stands a decent chance of obliterating human society as we know it before any of this wonderful stuff can happen. I would love it if someone would make a good argument why this isn't the case, but I've yet to hear one.
I don't think you are listening close enough. Read me
I agree completely. I played a civ3 game for a few(8) hours last night and it took so damned long for each turn by the time the 1900's rolled around that I had to turn on a movie and I lost the sense of immersion out of the game.
If you're the type of 'reader' that buys a book to look good on the shelf, then I sure as hell hope you are not the typical reader.

I understand that, but there is no reason to ignore the little things (like VW using USB), in favor of obsessing about the big things (peak oil etc.)

Petroleum is a miracle energy source, and is probably the number one contributing factor in humankind advancement in the last 100 years. If you can go without plastics, the postal service, public transportation, cheap food, and thousands of other things that you take for granted, then do it!
Do you have any idea how much these manufacturing facilities cost? Here's something else you might not know: it doesn't cost apple 300 bucks to make an iPod either! Gasp!
I admit that I've never seen two astronomers fight each other. But, I imagine it would be like watching two european Tour de France cyclists going at it, and we all know that aint pretty!
But they just came out? Anyways, go to Apple.ca.
If you ever buy a pc from apple use the student discount and enter some random digits for the student number.
I sure the hell hope you are right! But, I think the only way that will ever happen is if schools start using OSX and linux a lot more. The biggest reason people use windows is because they are used to it, and getting people get used to the alternatives will really help.
Of course the fact that almost all PC's come with Windows installed doesn't help the problem either. At least the other OS's now have passable support for most hardware as well as a somewhat competitive application library now.
I find bejeweled to be a little on the mindless side of the gaming spectrum. It's kind of like playing yahtzee with yourself, really. I think zuma is a little better, but it's just about fast reflexes and my laptop trackpad isn't too great for that game.
Does anyone know of any great games that involve a little more thinking and a little less twitching? An online version of dr. mario would be pretty cool. Word games like bespelled are nice too.
That is one of my favorites too. I got a big map of that with my national geographic(the only timeless magazine in my opinion) a few months back.
Well the earth is flat...
Here's another mirror. There's a really big map, and a wallpaper that I made for personal use. http://eightyford.com/archives/126/

...Does this ring a bell? It's called communism.
There's nothing wrong with communism if it is voluntary.

The vocabulary varies within the three major countries that speak it (America, England and Australia)
Eh?
1574 seconds on the sample size that I used.
Wow, that't amazingly fast!

He has an 70 mile commute every morning
Why doesn't he just move? And how to you pronounce the word seven?
If you don't like it then don't buy it, pinko!

Explain why, when buying new electronics from a reputable ebay seller, I should expect faulty products?
Maybe you should stick with your Ipod and be quiet when you don't have a point to make.
The NEXII is a buggy piece of garbage. I bought one off of EBay three years ago, and it will deafen you with electrical noise every few minutes.
Been waiting on one for some time now

The average white collar family has TWO working parents who spend 50-60+ hours a week at work and commute another 10+ hours.
So how does your ass feel after pulling these numbers out of it?

Agreed!
Yeah, they just don't get all the fancy things that private hospitals get. Like beds and rooms and aspirin and xray machines and qualified doctors!
So... you've been to Canada recently then?
