    That is one of my favorites too. I got a big map of that with my national geographic(the only timeless magazine in my opinion) a few months back.

    When did the word 'anymore' replace the word 'now'? Not an attack on you, because I hear it everyday. It just seems weird to me whenever I hear or read it.

    For me, the biggest selling point is that it is the least toy-like in appearance of the three. The DS may be fun, but I think it looks a little too much like a kid's toy.

    From what I hear, the "peak oil" crisis stands a decent chance of obliterating human society as we know it before any of this wonderful stuff can happen. I would love it if someone would make a good argument why this isn't the case, but I've yet to hear one.

    I agree completely. I played a civ3 game for a few(8) hours last night and it took so damned long for each turn by the time the 1900's rolled around that I had to turn on a movie and I lost the sense of immersion out of the game.

    Petroleum is a miracle energy source, and is probably the number one contributing factor in humankind advancement in the last 100 years. If you can go without plastics, the postal service, public transportation, cheap food, and thousands of other things that you take for granted, then do it!

    The NEXII is a buggy piece of garbage. I bought one off of EBay three years ago, and it will deafen you with electrical noise every few minutes.

    I sure the hell hope you are right! But, I think the only way that will ever happen is if schools start using OSX and linux a lot more. The biggest reason people use windows is because they are used to it, and getting people get used to the alternatives will really help.

    Of course the fact that almost all PC's come with Windows installed doesn't help the problem either. At least the other OS's now have passable support for most hardware as well as a somewhat competitive application library now.

    I find bejeweled to be a little on the mindless side of the gaming spectrum. It's kind of like playing yahtzee with yourself, really. I think zuma is a little better, but it's just about fast reflexes and my laptop trackpad isn't too great for that game.

    Does anyone know of any great games that involve a little more thinking and a little less twitching? An online version of dr. mario would be pretty cool. Word games like bespelled are nice too.

    Yeah, they just don't get all the fancy things that private hospitals get. Like beds and rooms and aspirin and xray machines and qualified doctors!
