Good to know that nothing really happenned to the guy. Sometimes us leechers forget that behind every torrent/p2p website, there's still good people working behind the scenes who made it all possible... sadly, they are usually the ones who get all the blame.
This is a great move. IE for mac is absolutely and utterly hideous; anyone who's used different browsers on mac knows that. It really is ancient... it came out during the first generation of iMacs and has themes that actually match the different colors of iMacs that came out at around the time. The most aggravating part of this is working in a IT department that only knows how to use PC, you come in as the mac guy and try to introduce everyone to how things work in mac, and they only browser they even want to try in mac is IE.
Yes, ages. In many countries they use computers from the 90's, paired with "broadband" that is only about twice the speed of dialup. "Ages" is an appropriate term.
There are over 40 critical updates that have come out since SP2... SP2 only goes so far in protection. I've used "broadband" in other countries... updating to SP2 plus all critical updates would take AGES. They'd be better off just disabling services in services.msc and using what they have now behind a hardware firewall.
Have you checked the fees? I did not overstate them. Ebay has a listing fee and gets a generous % of the final value. PayPal also takes a proportion of the payment you receive when it transfers to your account(which I have also failed to figure out why, since they are the same company). What they do is nothing short of rape without lube. Simpy put, there are not enough perks for sellers on ebay, who are really the ones who make eBay what it is.
You're absolutely right. I've been selling on ebay for a while to help get through college... eBay really takes advantage of its sellers. I you sell a $50 item, ebay gets at least $5 of that, paypal gets another $5, and soon your profits are down the tubes. I can honestly say that it really sucks when a buyer doesn't read the description, decides he doesn't like what he got, and then proceeds to file a suit against you on PayPal, freezing your account for at least a month until some eBay/PayPal representative gets around to it. It's just absurd. I can't wait til an alternative comes out.
I am a huge fan of Calibri. It's a new font that's pretty standard in Office 12. It's similar to trebuchet, but very easy on the eyes. You'll understand once you use it for a little. Only problem is if you're going to use it as text on the web, people need to have it installed, first.
Microsoft and MTV are basically already synonymous as it is... Bill Gates, P Diddy, Steve Ballmer, and Paris Hilton hit the clubs every night. Get with the times, yo. Microsoft sofware is just cool... that's why I bought it... you think I buy it for security?
I don't think you can compare them to humans, simply because they're two completely different beings. While this study claims to provide evidence that chimps may logic better than children, they lack what children have an abundance of, which is creativity. You give a child a paintbrush, they will draw whatever their mind wants... there's a creativity factor in there. You give a paintbrush to a chimp, and he'll eat it.
...but it isn't. I'm part of a private tracker group that banned Bitcomet 3 days ago... I've been using BitComet since, and nothing at all has changed. I'll change clients when things actually change.
If he owns a quarter of the stock, why not make him pay that much more back... it's it's $100 million originally, have him donate $133.33 million, $33.33 of which would go to himself and then other 3 quarters would go to where it actually belongs...
An asteroid of large enough proportion will never hit Earth. No way. Now before you ridicule me for such a proposal, just think about it. Sure, small meteors may slip through into Earth's atmoshphere; it happens all the time (constantly, actually). But do you know how large Jupiter is? Or take Saturn or Uranus... Earth is a spec of dust compared these planets, yet they orbit much further away from the sun, meaning that an asteroid of mass proportion will never make it to earth... gravity from larger planets in orbit will not permit it. The volume of Jupiter is 1300 times Earth's. I'm sorry, but this is just another instance of the media abusing science to make $$, blowing things out of proportion.
How loud are power supplies, anyways? Honestly? Not even 10 dB? I don't see the point of dishing out $150 for a power supply that is "silent" when I can't even hear mine now, sorry.
this is exactly what all those uncivilized, un-american, overseas excuses for human beings want for themselves, right? i believe this action already has a name... "preemptive strike"
the day we stop thinking that our fat american culture is superior to anything else out there is the day that world stops hating our country.
I'm glad someone is taking a stance. Goodness, if no one fights back now, then in 10 years we will be paying dearly for every byte of information we get ahold of.

More like Surge... hopefully its demise will be even quicker than the soft drink.

There's already enough shit in the news. I'd really rather not contribute.
I wonder if anyone has tried the target in my town yet...

It's called 60's music.

So how do I join this light-yourself-on-fire-and-run club? Sounds like fun!
It's funny to joke about women ruling the world... until they all hit their period and earth explodes.
Why is this posted on SlashDot? HONESTLY. You have news about FireFox, NASA, Katrina technology, and then Hulk: The Lame Video Game.
