The article does quote one 10-year-old boy who plays with Sims, and has learned valuable life lessons. "I learned don't leave your baby crying or people will come take your baby away."
So what you're trying to say, young man, is that The Sims helped your family line from becoming a victim of natural selection?
Actually, they are supposed to give you the option of not installing IE7 on Vista-- it's not a part of the operating system, it's just something that is on the installation CD for your convenience.
Disclaimer: I hate Internet Explorer and can't stand to use it. I'm a Firefox guy, and Google is my search engine of choice.
But even if they don't allow you to change it-- you don't even HAVE to have IE with IE7. That's like saying that Microsoft Paint should allow you to save files as PSD Photoshop files.
Microsoft is releasing a browser which you DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE (it won't be tied into the system as IE currently is), and it defaults to their search engine. Makes sense, if you ask me. What's wrong about this? If it was to give you a choice upon startup of MSN, Google, or Yahoo, they wouldn't get as many search queries. Have they done anything wrong? No. It's not even unethical.
And we give Google shit for being in China? Although, after they've set their stuff up in China, can we expect them to argue when the government demands something?
While this will keep some of the bots away, it will also cause the site to lose members. When I sign up on a forum, it is usually because I want to post RIGHT THEN. Of course, I'll probably continue to post on it.
If a site makes me wait three days, though, I'm likely to forget about it in that time.
Or were you talking about smaller grace periods? Perhaps 10 minutes? That might work well.
Actually, I've never had one of those... someone told me about one, and only told me the first line (this was my freshman year of high school). Later, I came up with the rest. Turns out, it was oddly similiar... weird, eh?
Oddly enough, I've had girlfriends REQUEST that I sing this in front of certain people. Very fun.
Congradulations-- you made the only "informative" post on slashdot today...
Except for, possibly, mine. I wonder if this counts as "insightful".... oh well, fuck it.
I'm a pretty purple pony, flippity-flop, flippity-flop, such a pretty pony, flippity-flop, flippity-flop. I like to have my hair brushed, flippity-flop, flippity-flop...
I blame the Xbox360's lackluster sales in Japan (and poor reviews in the states) on the fact that the release wasn't very impressive-- the games just weren't there. Now that they're building up a library, I think that more people will pay attention (the lack of games at launch were what kept me from buying a Nintendo DS). While I'm hardly an Xbox fan, I hope this move works for them.
Ok, what kind of technology is out there for the visually-impaired to browse the web? I'm from a very rural southern town, and I've never heard of such a thing. What can Target do to remedy this?
I'd suggest Windows, simply because that's probably what the kids are used to. Warning: anytime I've donated a computer somewhere (senior centers, other places), the place has called me at the slightest problem, including things like "We can't find a place to plug this printer in" when the printer used a USB cable, and the comp was an old Win98 machine w/o USB ports....and it doesn't stop there-- games not running correctly (they were trying to install Mac games on a Windows machine).
Yes, this was annoying with Windows... but it scares me to think about how often I would have been called if I would have given them a Linux machine.
Agreed. Baldur's Gate 2 was so good that Neverwinter Nights DISSAPOINTED ME. The quests were interesting, the characters were interesting... I always got very into the storyline (and the comedy was such that it didn't feel out of place... Boo rox ^_^).
In my mind, Baldur's Gate 2 has not been outdone yet.

This is actually pretty smart of them. I can't think of how else they'd force us to watch commercials.
Using the arguement that everyone else is using-- who cares if Dell, Hp, etc. install it on their computers? They aren't Microsoft.

The only time I EVER go through more than 5 pages of a search is when I'm doing research for a paper.
But I don't think you realize how small N64 games were. I don't believe I ever saw one that was over 60mb... And I bet Goldeneye was below 40mb.
Wouldn't the higher prices cause less people to buy the gold?

You're lucky. I live in noplace, Tn, as well... and they don't even recognize my ROAD on mapquest. At all. According to them, I don't exist.
Does it run Pink?
Oddly enough, I've had girlfriends REQUEST that I sing this in front of certain people. Very fun.
The pink is actually pretty pleasing to the eyes. Odd... I like it. Anyway of keeping it around?

Anyways, it's a cool idea, but how long until someone finds a security flaw in it? I mean, TFA states that users can access him from the internet!
R.I.P., priceless artifacts.
Those male models get EVERYTHING.... :(
Excuse me, but don't flash drives burn out after writing on them multiple times? Has this been resolved? If not, I would NOT put one in my laptop.
I'm sure that an ugly porn site would probably bring in more money than a pretty site about overpriced potato chips that you can ship from Pakistan.

No, I read the article. My point was: Why was there even an article on it? What was supposed to be special about it in the first place?
