I'm from New York, and so what if he's looking for publicity. He's doing the right thing. I'm not a democrat, but I'd vote for him because he does the right thing.
And yeah, just in case you were wondering, the ends justify the means.
Considering we're discussing IE and where it is now, that's why I mentioned alt-tab, considering IE is currently windows only. Alt-tab also seems to work in gnome though. The new versions of ie come with a decent popup blocker, and if you have your security set properly then it doesn't install any active-x on your machine without your permission. I have spybot to run the check, but I actually haven't had spyware on my computer in months, and I run IE7, with symentec corporate edition. There is also page filtering in IE, but no one uses it. I don't think ads on pages annoy as many people as you think, otherwise myspace would not be a popular website, and if you really want the ads to go away, add the servers to your block list and they go away.
Essentially with a little knowledge most problems go away.
No tabs - how do you manage more than four or five Web pages at a time? I have nine tabs open right now, and that is about average. Alt-tab for fast window switching
Pop-ups/pop-unders - How can you stand having pop-ups appear constantly cluttering your workspace. I can't stand it. Alt-F4 is my pop-up blocker
As for the rest of the post, I haven't noticed the web breaking while running IE7. Yeah it has tabs, but since SP2 on windows a lot of problems (with popups and spyware) were greatly reduced.
Besides, install Spybot Search & Destroy and Your Choice(tm) of viruscan and you should be good against most problems that come with the use of the internet.
I think he meant consistency by that the start menu is always at the bottom left, the menu's in the start bar haven't changed much since '95, those types of things. Obviously some things have changed, but yeah....for the most part its the same.
And then IBM made the processors for the MACS, and IBM pc's now refer to the clones with processors by AMD and INTEL, but now INTEL is going to be making the processors for Apple's computer. So the whole who's better war is pointless as it is obvious that everyone is using everyone else's stuff.
Please stop trashing those that are religious. I apologize for whoever made you think that Christians were elitist.
But honestly, your on slashdot. Who isn't elitist here?
Does anyone have any video or images of this? It would be real helpful for all us space geeks who would like to know all the little details about the mission.
I thought that was an amazing shot, I was dissapointed though that we weren't able to follow the tank back into the atmosphere until we got {NO CARRIER}.
I can't wait to see what else comes from this mission.
Parent beat me to it, but I do agree. This guy is going to have a lot of extra nerds at his wedding, and none are going to get laid (see wedding crashers for ideas)
I like 92.3's new playlist and their wack dj's especially Howard and Booker. They are the only radio station that's get in between the ipod and the cd player. And they do play new songs, just not the crappy songs. Have you not noticed the new System of a Down and Foo Fighter's songs' they play (just to mention a few).
That'd be a good point, except that States may have to recognize gay marriages of other states even if their own laws prohibit it. That's because of Article IV, Section 1: "Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State."
^^missing a part
Article. IV.
Section. 1.
Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.
States do not have to recognize same-sex marriage from other states because of the Defense of Marriage Act. Part of it reads, ""No State, territory, or possession of the United States, or Indian tribe, shall be required to give effect to any public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any other State, territory, possession, or tribe respecting a relationship between persons of the same sex that is treated as a marriage under the laws of such other State, territory, possession, or tribe, or a right or claim arising from such relationship."
As far as google and microsoft go. IANAL, but I think that it would really depend on what section of Google this guy is working at. If he is working in a division that has a similar mission as the one at microsoft then he's probably in violation and it will be seen as that. If he's doing something that isn't similar, but google needed him to open Google China because of who he knows, then google may not be in trouble. Either way Google and Microsoft are at WAR now.

Read some of the religious texts, you'd realize that the ones that cause problems are not actually doing that they are supposed to and can barely even be called by the name of the religion they represent. Next time you try and spout hate, do your research.
I'm that fat lazy kid that does the comp work, so we aren't all that bad.
Most people don't really care to learn how to install everything themselves.
They can donate the pc's they are throwing away to me, then I can use them to create servers or cs game boxes.
Congress proposes and passes an ammendment then it has to ratified by 3/4 of the states to become a part of the constitution.

Maddox was mentioned once in the blog "Clicked" in the msnbc.com blogs. It was the post mentioned in the grandparent I believe.
