  2. No appointment and he was pushed back? Horror! on French PM Unreceptive To RMS · · Score: 4, Insightful
Failing to have an appointment organized with the Prime Minister, Richard Stallman then decided to go to the ministry at Matignon (the place where French Prime minister works) on Friday 9th of June at 3h30 pm, with the printed list of the 165 000 signatures of EUCD.INFO petition and to try to be received by the Prime Minister and to deliver the EUCD.INFO petition (printed on a 17 meters long banner).

Is this really a news story? Someone without an appointment tries to seek a personal audience with a world leader and is denied? That's not anti-DRM, it's just common sense.

No, it's not different at all.

Google is hardcoded into Safari. It's not even customizable, it's right their in the binary. The reason is because Apple likely makes money from every search, in a similar way to the fact that Firefox makes money from Google searches.

Microsoft is certainly in their right to do this. It's no different. It should make absolutely no difference whether the product being promoted is yours or a third party's.

How about the FBI department that handles serial killers? Surely that's an infringement of our freedom?

Of course, the FBI should have gotten a search warrant, but I'm sure they will now and I hope they can determine who sent the threats, because I want to live in a world where I know if someone sends me a death threat (or what-have-you), that they will be found and I won't have to fear my safety on their account.

You don't see a use for the FBI? Pleeease.

Unfortunately it's highly unlikely that the macs will boot windows out of the box, since my money's on the fact that they use EFI over BIOS. Windows XP 64 bit works with EFI, but not normal WinXP. However apparently the Yonah chip doesn't support XP64, which doesn't quite make sense to me, but it's what I've heard. Can anyone clarify?

Go to a concert hall, stand up, and try to explain to everyone how warped their perception of music is, and you will get thrown out. Go to an alcoholics anonymous meeting and tell them all how warped their view of alcoholic beverages are, and you will get thrown out. Go to a meeting of a political party and be so kind as to explain in insulting terms what utter morons they are for not subscribing to the competing party, and you will get thrown out.

And yes, if you go to a church and try to tell everyone what they believe is ridiculous, and you will get thrown out.
