As somebody with a chronic condition, I'm in a group or two on facebook about it. Its nice to get advice from real people who have dealt with things before. However, I find that 85% of people that are in the group usually post things akin to "I'm vomiting blood, have horrible pain and high fever, what should I do?" Erm... maybe go to the ER?
While its not a bad thing to use to seek out some general advice (especially if you take anything you hear with a grain of salt), a lot of people use it as a substitute for real medical care or as a way to justify their fears of not going in to see a doctor, and that's terrifying.
I, for one, welcome our new cloned, drug-sniffing dog overlords
but, on a more serious discussion note, since cloning doesnt clone the memories/knowledge of the parent, why clone when you can just breed? Though it would be a good idea if you get a good bloodline with little disease and such
Very late at that. I've seen EA take many good game ideas and make complete garbage games (case in point, lord of the rings trilogy). They should've seen this coming years ago, gamers have been posting about the terrible quality of ea games for a long time
Would there be any way to change our neutral internet to a tiered internet without loads of downtime? Or wouldn't it take many people down to do this switch?
The internet on it is slow, many have had connection problems, a lack of customization ablilities, a fairly expensive cost already, and now a high cost of battery replacement
remind me again why this is such a sought after item?
Sounds about as useful as the emancipation proclamation and the time of it's creation. to sum up: Lincoln: "All the slaves in Confederated-held (aka not our)territories are free!" and MS: "We declare that we are free from the laws of the government under which we are placed"
If they would've just done a quality job in the first place, they wouldn't have to be spending the money now. They're probably regretting getting the console out fast now
I used to play ecco with a friend and we actually tried playing it, once controls and such were understood, to make a long story short sega genesis got intimately acquainted with the nearest wall
I wonder how hard it would be if i picked it up now though...
Is there some way to perform a graceful shutdown before the water gets pumped and released? If the supercomputers are still on when the water is discharged from the pipes, wouldnt that damage the systems?
If they dont want to use halon why not use a more computer-friendly compound like FM-200 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM-200/)
Disclaimer: I run Vista, I am slightly upset by these findings, but I'm just gonna ponder the positives.
As long as the info is sent anonymously, whats the big deal? This information is probably being used to make sure the operating system run the smoothest it can, the info sent can be used to help update the system and keep MS on top of bugs and holes in the OS
It may be 'cheating' but it does prove that the process can be done.
It proves that one can cut HIV, albeit a prepared version, out of DNA
If the procedure can be done under perfect lab conditions, it can be tweaked and changed to work outside the lab
A major accomplishment if you ask me
Wouldn't MS selling their own pc's force them to pull their software/make it more expensive to other vendors?
Their messing with a world that could be easily imbalanced, a move into selling their own pc's could either make them a ton of money, or it could cause for a huge push for opensource/alt OSes from other major vendors and it'd be MS's downfall
I have played Civ III, and I love that game, it's everything I ever wanted from a strategy game. I play the game because it's mentally involving, it's not a game I can pick up and beat in a week or so, some games can take over a month to complete, and every move has to be planned out accordingly
Civ IV I was disappointed with, the graphics were major overkill for a turn based strategy game, the ideas and concepts were phenominal, but those graphics ruined it for me, I dont play civilization to look at a pretty picture, but the game still got my respect because of the amount of new features that were easily and well integrated into the game.
But a civ with more action? I'm extremely skeptical, like mentioned above, these games are all about thought and planning, not pew pew shoot em up, I really hope this game turns out well, and if they pull it off, you gain my utmost respect, but I just feel that civilization is not made to be an action-packed game, and that it should play like it has been, an extremely strategic game
I'm not sure if the copying their refering to is flat out copying, or say, the same game with a slightly tweaked look or rules to it, or if somebody is taking the base idea and improving off of it
Personally, I don't see a problem with using an idea of something that works in your own product, using a sucessful idea and building off it encourages market competition, and helps to create a better product for the consumer, so i dont see why popcap is angry if somebody is using their base ideas (which it sounds like werent even theirs) to create something "new and improved"
the only thing they'd be angry about is losing their market, and if that is so, they should quit complaining and work on developing something better
I see it as a good move also, it would be awesome to get technology in the hands of the youth of developing countries, but so many times aid is intercepted by the government, or whoever the "bad guys" are, and something that was intended to aid progress, helps aid regression
Excellent to hear, I know of a family that has an autistic set of twins, but I'm not sure if it is caused by the weak X syndrome, that only accounts for a certain amount of autism cases, regardless, I've seen what it's like to live with autistic children, it is not an easy life
I'd definately have to say that it'd be a first person shooter, set in WWII, Jesus- the one man nazi killing machine
o wait..... thats medal of honor, minus the Jesus

the people running/making the game most likely are already taxed, so that's taken care of
