I don't get it, why on earth are people talking about "Saving" Nintendo. I am under the impression that Nintendo of Japan and America are doing quite well with their bottom lines. Am I wrong? If they are doing well business-wise, where is the problem? So what if 360 and PS3 get more "hype"; hype != money. After all, money is what drives business, lack of money is what drives businesses into the ground. (i.e. Sega)
So will this one delete all my bookmarks and remove all my blocked site too? Don't forget to back all that up before you update, I got screwed on the last one.
I know you're just joking and all, but Al Gore never claimed he "created" the internet. At least, not in the way most people think of the word "created". He was referring (loosely) to fostering the development of the internet. A more detailed summary of this myth can be found at snopes.

Myke has it right. I actually work for one of the contractors of NASA down here in Houston. I got to fly one of the Shuttle Motion Simulators (SMS) a few months ago and it was pretty awesome. You take control of the shuttle as it is about 2 or 3 minutes from the runway and you just follow this little green triangle with your joystick to follow the descent pattern. The computers on the shuttle are continually updating and adjusting this little triangle so that you get the correct lift/drag/etc. to make a fine landing at KSC (or where ever else). It's really not a difficult task, but if you were an astronaut, and you spent 2, 3 or even 6 years training for one mission, you sure as hell would want to fly/glide it at some point in the mission. How many people can say they have actually FLOWN the shuttle? Not too many, and I'm sure it is quite an experience.
Hooray for NASA! Hooray for commercial space flight!
Everyone at Teague Auditorium in Johnson Space Center was so quiet until the SRBs broke off the shuttle. Then there was a resounding applause followed by much rejoice! I know everyone here at JSC appreciates the support of NASA by all you Slashdotters and the like! Keep watching the launches and supporting the exploration of space!
Hey, I don't know what expansion it was, but I remember one of my friends showing me The Sims Hot Date or something like that. If you go all the way with the girl, your characters end up back at your place, where they hop into bed and kinda move around for a little while, then the guy falls asleep very quickly. Rather realistic for an EA game. I thought it was hilarious, but who would have thought that the Sims would have sexual content? Shall we call Hillary about that one? I can think of at least 10 other games she seems to have overlooked in her ESRB warmongering...
I was going to buy this game in the end of August before college started up again. Instead, I'm going to go buy it today after work, not because I actually want the "Hot Coffee" mod, but I don't want a shitty version of the game. I have no idea how far Rockstar will go in "changing" the original release, and I prefer my games uncensored.
As far as the AO stuff goes, I think the shower scene at the end of Tomb Raider 2 was much more enjoyable than this GTA:SA clip. (for those of you who finished the game without cheats) And, the graphics were about the same between these two games =D
Cool stuff Kebes! I just checked it at 3:30 Central Daylight Time and it is at 140,050!!! Simply incredible. So from the time around 11:30 to 3:30 CDT the hits have jumped up 136,000, a 3500% increase. However, the price has gone from 72 to 120 Pounds, only a 67% increase. Interesting... Ebay auction + Slashdot Millions?
I happened to check out the listing when there were only 3 comments posted on Slashdot about this. The ebay counter was around 4000 at the time and now it's up to 11000+ about 5 minutes later! Behold, the power of Slashdot!
A thought occurred to me after reading a few comments about, "Why do it in the monitor?" I bought my first computer for myself back in February of 2000. Since then, I have upgraded everything several times, except the monitor! In fact, my current primary personal computer uses only the monitor from my original 2000 purchase and nothing else. Everything, including the mouse, keyboard and harddrives, has been replaced by newer and better products. I actually added a new monitor to my setup three months ago, but kept the old 19" 2000 monitor and hooked it up to the VGA port on my Radeon 9800 Pro so I can run dual-monitors. Honestly, I have never really thought about getting rid of my old monitor since it has held up so well over the past 5 years.
So I'm thinking, what if this is an attempt to stir up the monitor market? In my opinion, the monitor is the least likely part of a computer package to be upgraded. Even at work (4000 employees), we still have these old 17" screens from 97-99, but our boxes have been upgraded at least twice since then.
I, of course, could be totally wrong, but I just wanted to throw it out there. =D
Plasma is overpriced; a real nerd would get a 119' 1080p projector!
Good post Zonk!
Do you really expect them to come out with an SAT Stanford Review game for Xbox? How would they make money off of that?
