So, most women do not care about participating in OSS projects. As a result, even if there is one female that is mildly interested, she'll get the job over a more qualified male just due to the fact that females are less interested in the industry.
Anytime you make a disparity between men and women, then you're being sexist.
But uTorrent is not open source. If Az is abused, people can always take the source code, make a new project, and get rid of all the bad stuff. If uTorrent adds something commercial and annoying, you're basically screwed.
game (particularly the shoot-shoot, point-scoring kind) was not an experience equivalent to that of reading a great novel like, say, 'The Great Gatsby,' because games don't delve very deeply into what it means to be human.

There are many studies out there; leave it to MacWorld to find the one that suits them.
It is highly unlikely people are going to want the hassle of moving all their files and programs to the Mac. I think the biggest problem is the fact that most games are not compatible with a Mac.
Wow, your analogy really convinced me. Because belief in gods is just like the global warming theory... and the big bang theory, evolution theory, and all that other useless science junk. Did you just copy/paste that argument from a religious forum or did you really think that that statement has any relevance to science?
"Ambiguous scientific statements about climate are hyped by those with a vested interest in alarm, thus raising the political stakes for policy makers who provide funds for more science research to feed more alarm to increase the political stakes."
I really hated that sentence in the beginning of the article. Many gov'ts have signed the Kyoto agreement, and many reputable scientists have urged us to lower CO2 emissions.
While I admit there is always a chance that so many people were wrong, it is still retarded to think it's better to take a "wait and see" approach. We need to lower CO2 levels now and then see if it helps, not wait until it is too late.
I don't see what's wrong with moving porn to.xxx; it just makes it easier to filter those websites from children and school/library computers. Most porn sites don't target people under 18 (I hope), so I don't think they have a problem if their websites are less accessible by children.
I'm personally not sure 'free' is the way to go. I'm willing to pay if it means I'm getting a quality service. Obviously you'd prefer not to pay but if it means the difference between an unreliable service and one the quality of Xbox Live, are you willing to pay?
Your statement is what leads businesses to exploit people for as much profit as possible.
First of all, most of these games are going to be peer-to-peer, so they only need a simple match-making service. Blizzard has shown with Battle.net (wc2, wc3, & sc) that it is possible to have a free match-making service.
Can you imagine my monthly bills if I had to pay for connection fees for a Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony console? I pay my internet bill, and that should be enough. I pay for WoW not just because I know MMO servers require a lot of bandwidth and computer power, but because they also deliver constant upgrades to the game; I will never pay for just a match-making service.
On a little side note: you will have to pay for Starcraft: Ghost on the XBOX, but not on the other two consoles; do you really believe that XBOX is just providing a more "reliable service"?
I'd be willing to bet that Word is preloading itself when your computer starts-up. Which, of course, just makes you think it's fast, when in reality it's just slowing you down on start-up.
Yes, OOo is certainly missing all the ground-breaking word processing technologies that emerged within the last 10 years. Honestly, both OOo and MSOffice have nothing on notepad, which sadly starts-up and runs faster than both of them.
I was watching Cops one day, and the cops were saying how near the end of the month many women go out and prostitute themselves so that they can pay their rent. Another time, the cops caught this homosexual with aids prostituting; they said he keeps coming back out on the streets as soon as he is out of jail. I doubt many people find this moral.
But let's talk about what's really important: Home Value. If you can get the prostitutes out of the streets, your property value will surely increase as a result.
Sadly, I expect Azureus and uTorrent to ignore this fact and implement their own standard.
Well, sadly, BitComet is closed source and didn't release their protocol on how they handle the encryption. Do you think it's better for Azureus and uTorrent to work together and make a protocol that all clients can implement, or do you expect them to start reverse engineering BitComet's protocol so that they are compatible? I don't mind closed source software, but the BT protocol started open sourced, and I would prefer it to stay that way. If BitComet wants to stay closed source, that's their prerogative, but then they should also support the protocols decided by their open sourced counterparts.
I heard Microsoft was doing a lot to insure that the XBox 360 would be popular in Japan, but it seems like it wasn't enough. Maybe they should have hired a Japanese marketing company instead of leaving it to the Americans.
It would be really nice if they released high-quality videos; however, I don't see them doing this unless they embrace torrents to minimize the bandwidth costs. World of Warcraft utilized users' upload for patches even though they charge a monthly fee. I can't imagine yahoo releasing HQ videos of shows without doing the same.
I never knew people found swiping a card so difficult. I do enjoy the fact that I don't have to do rudimental math when using a credit card, but this is a bit ridiculous and definitely not worth the security risk.
Usually I hand the card to the cashier anyway, so I really don't see this as much of an innovation.
They retrieve real-time stock info (not 15-min delay). That alone is really cool for anybody who has stocks.
However, I'm more looking forward to what they plan to do with all the money they received from their own stocks. I hope they don't decide to just sit on it.
At least try to read...
I just said they were going to be releasing cards at BlizzCon as well. I've never said they were the collectible ones referred to in the article; your rudeness was rather uncalled for.
I would assume that Upper Deck is making these "regular" cards as well.
They just announced that they will release card to people who attend their Blizzard Convention (http://www.blizzcon.com/swag.shtml). Not sure if they attend to sell them as well, or only give them out at special events.
Those who (physically) hurt themselves cheating are obvious not qualified for uni anyway.
Actually, Wikipedia is very useful, and hence why it is such a popular website. So, if anything, it proves that human nature is mostly good.

>It has a top speed of 100 km/h (60mph) I want to save money on gas, but not at the expense of doubling the time it takes to drive home.
Isn't it so wierd how computer glitches cause random sites like www.DearAOL.com to be banned? We'll never understand these complex computer thingies.

I hope Google has a very competent security staff at their main offices. Oh, you took what he said metaphorically? Silly you.
