    Also I guess we have to define what it means to still be working. Did the UK make the conversion to all digital yet like the US, or are there still analog broadcasts?

    If they haven't gone all digital, then it's possible that this set can still receive programming, whereas a set bought in the U.S. only a few years ago doesn't work without the addition of a converter box.

    Seems to me that if you are seeing bugs come back after they've been fixed, that you don't have a good repository for the source code. I would start there. That's cheaper.

    Well I wonder if you could harvest healthy cells from a damaged liver, decellularize it and then use the salvaged cells to rebuild it back to full size.

    Can an atom be split using extereme cold? If you stop all the motion of an atom due to absolute zero does it fall apart? Is absolute zero a cessation of motion on a molecular level or an atomic level?

    I agree we should look into this stuff, but I am less suspect of safety standards and more suspect of something external causing this. After all, a lot of people claimed the war in Iraq was "about the oil", who's to say there isn't some whack job out there sabotaging these platforms. 2 in a year makes me more suspicious of terrorism than safety standards.

    He set it up with the doctors to be put on the machines required to keep him alive until he dies naturally AND he cover all of the expenses.

      While I think it would be nice to donate organs and such, sometimes it's just not possible, and this man just needs to accept that or to come up with a way to make it possible.

    If I were to do something like, I wouldn't store anything. I would leave the image stored on Flickr and then just rewrite the url through some type of proxy server that makes it appear as if it is coming from my server.

    Ahh I see after reading through the thread a 4th time that you may be right. When I read the ggp, I read he was going through his pockets looking for some candy to keep the device one. But if he was going through hit pockets looking to turn on other devices to use up excess glucose, then that indeed would be hyperglycemia. My apologies.

    Right, and if the electricity is being produced by the glucose (blood sugar) and it gets too low, then the device will go into power saving mode due to lack of enough energy.
