    Since the service that was denied "was the ability to administer the routers and switches of the FiberWAN" I figure that anyone who keeps me from getting to work on time in the morning by driving stupidly, or even a police officer who stops me along the way I can have them brought up on "Denial of Service" charges and maybe even making a tidy profit. Also I think Jason Chilton is an idiot.

    I suppose if this was a hacking site, it would be considered the best part, but it's actually the worst part because it may go unnoticed. Who's side are you on?

    Perhaps this little guy does live on oxygen, but simply has a process to separate from the hydrogen directly from the water itself. Just because there is no saturated oxygen dissolved in the water doesn't mean it doesn't live on oxygen.

    Don't look for a solution in the cars, look for the solution in the phone.

    Most if not all phones have some sort of GPS. Simply deactivate the screen keypad, and ringer and send all calls to voice mail if the phone is traveling faster than walking speed.

    Yes, you can, but there are restriction on it. It must not be viewable by children under 18. So now, all you have to do is figure out the technology that will allow you to broadcast your signal within the restrictions. That is not censorship.

    Censorship would mean the answer to your question would be absolutely not.

    I think I have seen 2 or 3 videos where a person in the back seat of a police vehicle has somehow gotten into the front and driven away. Are you sure about this lockout switch? The one thing is that people are assuming the DHS person was driving an official vehicle. I doubt that was the case. He was probably in his PoV.

    I checked all the Windows machines here. None of them have a white button on them anywhere. What does this mean? Does the poster just mean powering the machine off and then on again?

    Too many times on Slashdot, when people should be informative, they obfuscate the information it in failed attempts at being clever.

    or

    "Would you like to donate money to save the rain forest in Antarctica?"

    Basically it means, the person is gullible and you are going to try sell them something that doesn't exist, or you can't possibly sell. Since Florida has TONS of water, if you are selling waterfront property cheap enough. I would be interested.

    From my youth I've always been interested in science. Astronomy, Chemistry, Computing and Math were my favorite subjects. However I always ran into those individuals that were gifted with greater than average intelligence that decided that it was better to lord it over the normal people and treat them like crap rather than pass on their learning. I still see that attitude here on slashdot and it bugs the living hell out of me. It's what has kept me from pursuing what I was interested in and having to settle with what I do.

    I think what needs to happen to make science more appealing is to have those involved learn some social skills so that they aren't chasing away the budding botanist, or the less than stellar astronomy students who have a real interest and desire to learn, but don't want to put up with some smarmy smart assed geek, who has spent all their time with books, and not enough time with people, belittling them all the time . You want to draw people into scientific fields? You do it like a human being. You socialize.

What is being put on trial is the idea of humans causing it or contributing to it. Everyone is bitching about the corporations because they are about money, well let me tell you what, the scientists are trying to keep their funding too.
