They have the right to impose those conditions as long as they do so before hand, thus giving you the right to accept or reject them.

How about a look at the big picture? Gates & co. are robbing the rich, and giving a fraction of this money to the poor. The alternative could be that we used Free software, and instead of the money going to Microsoft, it could go more directly towards helping the poor.

How are they robbing anyone? Just because you don't like their business model does not mean they are robbing someone.

Any you act like its mandated by god that the rich help the poor. The fact that you think big corporations will use the saved money to help the poor is beyond delusional. What they will use it for is the pad their margins, or buy them selves more expensive lunches.

Except that is monopolies artificially rising the price because they wont keep their infrastructure up to snuff.

Where i live my cable company and phone company are providing nearly equivalent service. As I have friends who work at the cable company they are working non stop to convert the rest of their coax to fiber(to the poll/node).

    Because of this :
-we get a 15mb connection with REAL unlimited bandwidth for 30-40$,.

-They use to throttle people who were causing nodes to slow, but since the new roll out, there have been nearly no reports of throttling.
(And even when you were throttled, it was still faster then Time Warners service).

Society has always been this way. The fact that your anonymous on the net makes it worst.

People always tear others down to make themselves feel better. So to survive in society you either:

a)Do whatever you can to fit in, and be successfully according to the quirks of society.

b)Do what ever makes you happy and not give a rats ass about what others think.

    c)flip out and/or lash out.

There are some people who can handle it and then there are those who proclaim life is horrible when they drop and break their ipod. Unless society itself changes nothing will change and considering society has always been this way... don't ever expect change.

They also made uncharted waters, which was also an extremly fun and could be somewhat educational. Your child may not learn allot of content from video games, but they will definitely learn how to think. Strategy, simulation and maybe even RP games force you to think to win, and when you fail it requires you to figure out why you failed and how you can tackle the problem. Unfortunately I doubt we will see games popping up much. Schools are regurgitation factories, and tools that don't aid in "teaching the tests" are considered useless.

Right now web 2.0 is the Frankenstein of codeing.
    -php to get dynamic data
    -html to see the page
-css to make it look pritty
-javascript to alter a current page

So for me to update a section of a page without doing a complete reload need to... create a call in javascript that grab the html from a new page that is created by php, then we use javascript again to inject it into the html tag we want.

From the geeky side it seems cool... but for someone who develops web 2.0 pages, it would be nice if one standard framework would be developed that encompassed all these things. So that coding "Web 2.0" pages would be cleaner, easier, simpler, and more efficient.

Indeed, it also seems my ISP [Cablevision(Optimum TV,Voice,Online)] knows they cant screw around either, and are putting fiber up like crazy. In fact they RAISED our cap recently, no I only pay 30$ a month for 15down/5up and this is not even their "Boost" package. I get no slowdowns (pulling 1.5 MB/s download as i type this). Now they are trying to phase analog cable out because its a huge waste of channels.

PS: I guess this is why competition is good, Verizon and Cablevison are duking it out where I live.
