None of these games are hard core with maybe the exception of wow. Bioshock is single player and Halo and gears are games 20 times simpler then what had come before them. Compared to games like starsiege tribes, rainbow six, and counter stirke.
Starsiege tribes was a high speed FPS with flight, where your shots inhered your speed. Not only did you have to understand how your shot would move, you would also need to account for where the opponent would be when you mortar or disk landed. This is quite a bit more complicated then LOL auto aim LOL of Halo.
In wow i can get on for an hour and do several quests, get some money and exp.
In say Dark age of Camelot thats enough time to get to where i need to level to find out theirs only 1 full group, with 2 other people on the waiting list to join it.
500 insignificant choices like things such as fashion, taste, color, ect.
Example there are over 500 models of cars... but every car is nearly the same when it comes to the baseline capability's and function.
If i created a car that used pedals to steer,a leaver for throttle, and told you you could now only drive on the 4% of roads that support this car; i doubt i would sell very many.

I use visual studio for my hobby side stuff and Eclipse for my everyday work. While its true eclipse is more portable and expendable. Its slow bloated and buggy compared to VS.
The software never goes poof, the service may. Never rely on a free external service for this very reason. They have zero obligation to you or your product.
Dude tried the make money off Google's dime. Google stopped/changed the free service (they have every right to). Its his own fault for relying on a service that he has no control over, or contract protecting him.
I think its more like you buying a cup that sais Coke on it. You can fill this cup up with any liquid you want... unless its a liquid that coke also makes, then said liquid is banned from the cup. If pepsi attempts to fill my cup, coke may sue them.
Simple, the new age of gaming is about making it look nice at the cost of everything else. Its easy to make a game look good (as in its just money + time) which is why its now the industry standard. You cant calculate, graph, or project profits on creativity, so that's out the window.
Fortunately companies like Nintendo,Valve, and Blizzard still do there best to put out games that focus on story and game play.
I used to live on a flag lot behind another house.
The house in front of us and the two next to us were all robbed multiple times over the course of a few years. I believe our good fortune was due to the two German Sheppards we kept as pets.
I don't see to many issues with software companies.
Most colleges have deals to get needed software products cheap and companies like MS and adobe just don't really give a shit if people download (in the end it benefits them more then students using an alternative).
in many areas this is not true. For example Long Island, NY Cablevision is at war with Verizons DSL and FIOS. From cablevision you can get a 15Mbs/2Mbps connection from 30-40$ a month($10-15 more for a 20/5 connection).
NO USAGE LIMIT
ps: There used to be a bandwidth cap/throttling that was automatically instated (you would have to call and hear a lecture to get it removed) if you were uploading enough to cause a slowdown at the node. As of lately it hasn't been happening.
pointless, nearly everyone who does pirate stuff off of usenet uses something like giganews.
Hell i wish they put more legit stuff on it, i get 1.5-2MBs via giganews; I even download things like wow from it because its way faster then any other method.
Halo, Gears of War, Bioshock, wow.
None of these games are hard core with maybe the exception of wow. Bioshock is single player and Halo and gears are games 20 times simpler then what had come before them. Compared to games like starsiege tribes, rainbow six, and counter stirke.

Im sure Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 will be sanctuaries for the hardcore for many of years.

Dono it would take alot of sales tax and increases in shipping charges to make the 7$ HDMI cable cost 89.99

And there are people who aren't ignorant and understand that taste is subjective.

I agree WTF Google! You should give back all the money people payed you for your service.... oh wait...
Software != service.
The software never goes poof, the service may.
Never rely on a free external service for this very reason. They have zero obligation to you or your product.

Wow now i need to test my site in at least 4 browsers, this is getting fucking ridiculous.
I think its more like you buying a cup that sais Coke on it. You can fill this cup up with any liquid you want... unless its a liquid that coke also makes, then said liquid is banned from the cup. If pepsi attempts to fill my cup, coke may sue them.
So they base there decisions on the features and ability's while Americans base theirs on how tard friendly the phone is?
Considering how many people payed 5$ for the ifart app, you might be on to something.
There phones don't get sold here because they think the average American is to stupid to know how to use it.
Considering shiny and limited but tard friendly iphone is a hit here, they are right.
ff7,m64,zelda:oot, mgs would be in my top 5
The era of "lets take the 2d fun and make it 3d" was the peak of the gaming industry (imho) vs the lets take X and make it more shiny.
wait wait wait... you're on slashdot... news for nerds... and you pay for porn?!
Please hand over your geek card on the way out.

wow, you really have a stick up your ass agents overclockers.
http://www.evga.com/articles/378.asp
EVGA had FOUR types of 8800GT with varying speeds and specs.
A decreasing percentage, as people move to 64bit and mac/linux increase market share.
Last i checked chrome ran fine in vista 64.
Right now its optimized for the 32bit market, that dose not mean it wont run on a 64 bit platform (even IE defaults to its 32bit version)

Because the rules of the game say you must be the one playing not some automated system.
The 9million people who subscribed to the game agreed to such rules and the majority of them play the game fairly.
So what makes you so special or gives you the right to be above the rules that you agreed to?
If you don't like the game or its rules dont play, don't be a self centered asshole who thinks hes above everyone else.
