Look at Atlantic City casinos - they go broke every year, year after year, yet they generally keep their doors open, keep thousands of workers employed, and provide a stable tax revenue source for the city...
Also, Trump isolates his enterprises - when a Trump University goes bankrupt, that doesn't impact Trump's golf courses - they are all separate, independent businesses.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen - after collecting increased federal taxes from high-tax California, New York, New Jersey and other states, federal lawmakers will drag their feet to give up that revenue stream.
