I am taking an off campus courses of a top American University graduate program here in Taiwan. The exactly same text book sold here in Taiwan is about 1/5 the price of U.S. book store. Our U.S. professor always come to Taiwan to buy the text book they need. It is a total rip off for the U.S. students IMHO.
They are just too rich to connect with regular folks. Besides, it has nothing to do with Vista, it is just an exercise of the cilt of personality of Bill Gates.
So when is google going to start scanning The National Enquirer or other tabloid newspapers, so the slashdotters can look up Natalie Portman's news with grits handy!
If the police follows you around all day, because you are in the public area and you can be seen. However, if they attached a GPS on your car without you knowing, that is search without warrant. Police can monitor you in public but not access your property without your consent or court order.
Actually, there are numerous space related treaties signed between nations. International lawyer with good familiarities of those treaties is probably needed in the future to deal with those affairs.

EBook may be an iffy use for the consumers, however I see it has a great potential use in the education system. The kids or college students can go to classes for the whole day just bringing a light weigh EBook. The textbook can be stored in PDF format. Students can search and makes on the textbook. I live in Asia, where elementary school kids lug around a 20 pound book bag everyday. I see this device saves a lot of kids' back.
the music should be free or nearly free throught digital distribution, and the artist can work for their paycheck through concert, and endorsement deals.
Sure it can, you score can go into the negative area since Vista is slower than XP. By my count, it is -5 because of the worse benchmark score and compatibility issues.
MS is trying to get XP on OLPC is an effort to modify XP to run on the future cheap version of the ultra mobile device, such as Asus eeePC or classmate PC. Those are the next hot seller in the PC market. If they can get XP to run on the OLPC, then MS can just modify the XP and call it something else to enter the cheap ultra mobile market.

Let's just hope that this wireless solution is cheaper than the ridiculous pricing of the HDMI cable out there, because the only purpose of this solution is to replace the HDMI cable.
The Sony's PRS-505 is at $299. I will wait until the price drop to 199. I have seen the epaper made from E Ink, it is very easy on the eyes and the latest Sony ebook has made a significant advancement in the refresh rate.
There are tons of copy right expired content online. I can't wait to curl up on the couch and read a good classic novel.

Not only use it as a BT server, I also use it to look for alien signals, by running the SETI@home at the same time.

now only if Apple would set up the same service with Mustang Ranch and we can get serviced by using iPhone.
I sure hope Google is licensing the OS for free to keep the phone cost down and make money off the advertising just like their other services.
what is next? Star Wars laundry room? Serenity bedroom? Or, dare I say it, Hogwartz garage?
