Good points.
Another point is by using PPC architecture they are trying to prevent people buying the console and hack it then use it as a Windows PC. It was a question Bill Gates asked when they present the product to him.
I am sure the 360 will be hacked eventually, but it would be a lot harder than the original XBox. What is better is that it will run Linux.

Conversely, there are a lot intelligent people out there considers themselves informed on the issue and condidates, but in reality they are not. Just simply they do not have time to do the research, they are influenced by the source of their information (media)and their own views.
So, the true danger lies within the flase acknowledgement of their own understanding on the election in question.
Well, only if the dairy is the public space. In order for you to read my dairy without my permission, you will probably have to break and enter my house, which is an offense.
In the wrong part of US, you will end up on the wrong side of a shot gun.
I am pretty sure that they use a dedicated disk duplcator which can format 8, 16, or 64 hard drives at once. However, the iPod is probably connected to a PC in the final function testing process post assembly before packaging. It is also possible that they use PC for that purpose since PC's are cheaper to maintain and buy. However, why does a testing PC even has virus is the question! It should be a clean system without connection to the internet.
Apple has enjoyed a good run with iPod. I imagine if this technology is offered to the content vendor and enable Apple to sell more iPods. Apple probably would not take them to court. Apple isn't really making a huge profit off iTune.
If this technology is offered to hardware vendors so other MP3 players will be able to play DRM songs from ITMS. You will see Apple take them to court ASAP.
If the difference between us and the aliens are analogous of the difference between the cannibals in New Guinea and housewife in Chicago that would be great. But if the relative difference is on the scale of human and ants, that would be a problem. Consider the poossible technological and cultural difference, it is a higher possibility.
Do you ever feel guilty or care about stepping on some ants? If the ants become a nuisance, you will probably call the exterminator. I shudder to think what would happen if the inetrstellar exterminator shows up on our doorstep.
Hey, it is made out of E Ink. It is a type of refelctive display. The next big thing in the display industry. It is suppose to mimic paper, hence no back light. That is why you turn on the light to read a book or ebook. It is much more natural and easier on the eyes. Check out http://www.eink.com/index.html
Neither Apple nor MS will take a loss on their MP3 player.
The 30 GB 5G iPod was estimated at USD 151 last year. http://www.eetimes.com/news/latest/business/showAr ticle.jhtml?articleID=172303152
The new iPod is only an update no significant change was made. The cost should've gone down significantly by this time of the year, despite the brighter TFT LCD screen. Everyone knows how fast the hard drive drops in pricing. iPod's volume does wonders in pricing negotiation as well.
Yet Apple is selling at USD 299. So Apple will possible take a hit in the gross margin with the new USD 249 pricing.
Let's look at MS. The Zune has bigger TFT LCD screen, wireless module and toshiba design and manufacturing ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/5288042.stm ). These factors can add significant cost to Zune.
I can't comment on the pricing of the EE parts since it is known, so I will assume it is comparable to iPod.
Also the retailers (Bestbuy, Circuit city...) will need take their 10 to 20 percent margin as well.
So it is clear that Apple will make less money on the new 30 GB iPod and MS' margin will be squeezed if the rumor for the low pricing for Zune is true.
Yap, it looks like an embedded system with ARM 9 or 11 or MIPS 32 in it.
That would be the cheapest solution on the block! At $299, Apple is making a killing on it!
Yes, the U.S. may be only getting a B- in freedom and civil liberties, but China is failing miserably. At least the Americans have the RIGHT to question authorities!

Bill Gates was/is Harvard's benefactor. Did you have any doubt the result of the study? There is not even an disclaimer in the article. Sheesh...
Good point on correlation and causation. All we hear is the greenhouse effect on the climate. The exact mechanism is not known. The further question the study, I would like to see the correlation model they built. I would really like to see the R^2 number of CO2 level and temperature and other correlation variables they have studied in the time-series model.
Agreed. OS is a product requires a prolonged exposure to user to gain confidence and appreciation. The boot camp is merely a mean to gain the exposure. Apple is betting on the users' will get addicted and will grdually get away from windows. I have seen this happening on a numerous occassions already.
I suspect once Apple gained enough install base, the support will go away. Boot Camp is only for the transitional period.
That is exactly the point!
You will be good because you truly believe it is the right thing to do not because of the fear what might happen to you in the next life!
Perfect, I will be up all night playing Duke Nukem Forever!
come with Duke Nuke'em Forever?
That is because woot is medieval English for "know". Chaucer used it in The Wife of Bath's Tale.

Or rather, Apple is applying the Osbourne effect to the other multimedia streaming appliances or or media center PC for Xmas.
