I'd imagine the marketing dollars for Madden is probably about 10x the development costs, if not more, but the money spent on The Old Republic will be less or even the aggregated development costs over its life.
Well, they did buy out the NFL football market, so there's no competition there. When 2KSports was still working on their football series, it was definitely rivaling Madden. I'm not sure if that counts as marketing dollars though.
But honestly, you should know better: quality != best selling. There's some correlation, but when there's no competition in some markets because you've bought the exclusive license, your argument is difficult to swallow.
What would be the reaction if this were marketed in Europe, and all three people were Asian? "Is this a Japanese board room?" Or if all three people were very dark-skinned black: "Where's this taking place? Kenya?" It's sort of the same thing.
So really your point is that there are no black, asian, or white women in Europe? Does one black person really confuse people that much?
Well, I read all 8 books in the series, but it's not like he had to write the Shadow series. Obviously it probably made him a lot of money though, so what do you expect?
I agree that the radio series is the best format of taking in the books. I even tried watching the TV series which has pretty much the same crew, and I just couldn't stand it. The books are great, the radio series is simply awesome.
Consoles are recycled though. If they're still under warranty, you send your RROD'd console back, and are sent a refurbished 360 that someone else once had an RROD from. Your original is then fixed and put back in the queue to be sent out.
It's still not a negligible cost though, and a little better R&D in the first place would have saved everyone a lot of headaches and money.
But do casual players really play their Wii for more than an hour a day, every day? That seems to defeat the purpose of the label "casual" at that point.
Microsoft has made the CPU smaller and redesigned the power supply over the last couple of years, has that helped at all? I picked up my first 360 last Christmas, and it's been working fine, but the RROD is always on the back of my mind.
Even worse news for Microsoft is that only 3.8% said they would buy another Xbox (due to failures) and the survey found they had rather shoddy customer service.
Is the worse news for Microsoft the fact that even when burned customers continue to buy the console, or that they have crappy customer service?
Too bad Greenpeace didn't consider those when they named Nintendo such a non-green company.
For what it's worth, many RROD's 360's can be repaired by Microsoft or even through hardhack methods. I don't know Greenpeace's method of calculation, but I suppose even if they can fix them, shipping all these broken 360's back and forth doesn't help.
I decided to spent between fourteen and fifteen seconds reading your post. It's better for higher uid's to spend too long, to show that they're intelligent, not noobish. It's better for lower uid's to go a little fast, to show good editor potential.
I think he got the issue out of the way quickly: that clicking on the article was a mistake.
I'm either having an extreme case of deja vu or I read this exact comment about a week ago.
You can compress anything down to 1-bit if you have the right decompression algorithm.
It was more a strategic move to add even more characters to Kingdom Hearts.

Sure, we've moved on, but we all still have a long way to go with plenty of moving on to still occur.
Well, I've been using Debian based distros for the last year (read: Ubuntu), what are the advantages of using Slackware? What can I expect?
Is there an easy way to quit using the government?
Shrug.

And then Microsoft paid them off and they made even more money.

Start with The Fountainhead, it's much more digestible and in my opinion, a better read in general.

Hey man, let's use a more relevant example, like no blood in Mortal Kombat on the SNES while Genesis had the blood code!

Ahh... Starcraft Ghost.
Especially when you can't even get her gender right.
I'm assuming the TomTom says the directions out loud? Maybe Google Maps does that too but I don't own an iPhone or iTouch so I wouldn't know.
