thios is only gettin worse. the whole point of having a COMPUTOR is so that you can manipulate your own media, ie get rid of ads. if i wanted commercials i would go watch tv.
But, remember that it ISN'T your media. Once you upload it to Google they can display it however they want, and in addition they can display any part of their site however they want to.
this shit has to be left in the dust by everyone, or you wont recognize the internet in 15 years; it will be like digital cable, only with commercials.
The main difference between TV and computers in my mind is not that one has ads and the other doesn't. Computers require user input which makes them very much different than TV. It'll never be as bad as TV where you either sit there and watch ads for 10 minutes or you go do something else. On a computer you can just close the window and find the video you want somewhere else.
hopefully people will keep writing software to prevent this from happening. i know google does have something in the pipe about searching images and even video, so its not too far fetched to have a program that searches and destroys unwanted ads.
That's just silly. You can't "destroy" an ad if it's put on someone else's server.
as far as people being paid to post shit on the net? i dont care if it dries up. i like free video, with no ads, if you cant do that then you can find another line of work or fuck off and die. i didt tell you to be in this business, and i dont want what you are selling. if you dont provide ad free video i can get it from tons of other places
If there was no advertising on the internet, a large portion of sites would be forced to shut down because of the high maintenance costs. Do you think there's some rich dude sitting behind Google and paying them to keep running? Probably not quite that much. They're probably keeping their sites alive through advertisements.
i already dont like google video because it doesnt let you right click and save their stuff. now there is going to be more drm and commercials? i think my response is clear: and the horse you rode in on.
And yes, you CAN download their videos. You simply need to have their video player, which makes sense (so you can't just copy it over to another website).
1. If they create a ship with this power on earth, then they can easily streamline it if it ever needs to be used in a lunar environment. It's better to start off making a craft with excess power than it is to start off making one with a lack of power.
2. It may prove to be a more important thing to see a craft that can navigate the TERRAIN on the moon, not just the different gravity environment.
3. Holding a contest like this will further the development of future crafts, and so is beneficial to the overall goal of getting to the moon, whether or not the craft that is created here is used there. It also adds a competitive edge which can spur the makers on.
Just because you can make this sort of bathroom is good, but I don't think I would want one in my home. I think it would probably weaken my immune system if I used a sterile environment like that. However, public bathrooms; it would be great.
Here's my viewpoint on this.
I personally do not like the fact that gay or lesbians exist. I think that it is wrong and it perverts something that was supposed to be sacred, i.e. marriage.
However, it's better to accept the fact that these players are paying for a game and should be allowed to have an equal amount of freedom. How would I feel if someone was trying to ban me for something similar?
That said, I think that since being a gay or lesbian couple in WoW does not change the way the rest of the game goes, let it be that way.
Sort of off-topic, but...

So what about the famous fifth commandment, the one that says, "Thou shall not kill?" -FTA
The fifth commandment actually is the one that says "Honor your father and mother."
You can find an escape in ANYTHING. My mother, when she is stressed, will clean the house and get very involved in it. It's a natural human reflex, to release tension and anxiety. The fact that some humans release it through less physically active means does not necessarily indicate that this is a waste of time.
In fact, it may be LESS of a waste of time to release stress by completing challenging game puzzles, or hone your reflexes on that first-person shooter, than it would be to release stress by lifting weights; especially with the skills required in today's work.
I know solo musicians who sell their own work and make over $10,000 per weekend at a fair. Sure there's a music business, but it involves not being lazy, and actively advertising your work. Many musicians do not know how to do this, and therefore, think it is impossible.
It said in the article that having these surfaces would greatly reduce the amount of heat that an aircraft recieves when returning to the atmosphere. And I was thinking, does that mean that one small tear could rip the aircraft apart, like the Columbia? It seems like it might be more beneficial to build craft that don't rip up like the space shuttle did, than craft that are even lighter.
What if they sped up fast enough to land on the asteroids, and then used the remaining fuel (if any) to power a generator that would keep transmissions coming for a long time? Instead of just being probes, they could also be communications waypoints. I don't know about this though, the asteroid may be of material that blocks transmissions.
But if they put various probes in about 8 places on the asteroid belt, we would have a good communications mesh around the solar system.

It's very true. I'm sick of statistics, and I'm sick of these people trying to blame video games for what kids do. There's this whole psychology that everyone has in the modern age where "people aren't bad, it's just what happens to them that MAKES them do bad stuff". Well people are bad, and they would do these things regardless of what games they play. It is even said in the Bible, "it is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out". I'm pretty sure that youth have been acting up since the beginning of time.

Apparently everything that happens to Nintendo is a PR stunt nowadays :D
Think about this logically.
1. If they create a ship with this power on earth, then they can easily streamline it if it ever needs to be used in a lunar environment. It's better to start off making a craft with excess power than it is to start off making one with a lack of power.
2. It may prove to be a more important thing to see a craft that can navigate the TERRAIN on the moon, not just the different gravity environment.

...a new generation of Slashdot. Gone is "Will it run Linux?" and here to stay is, "Will it run WoW?"

Just some food for thought, I guess.
I wonder if Sid will ever make another Covert Action? I really loved that game.
I'm honestly not surprised; life is the most adaptable thing in the entire universe.
