I can see the frustration of having things locked to a device or aplication (And yes iTunes is not exectly the best application ever made by Apple). Last I checked you coukd get at lest DRM free music forn Itunes so things are moving in the right direction. As for moivies ant tv shows, I can't comment as I've never used Itunes for that.
I'm an apple user, and persomaly I have yet to get into a situasion where what i neeed it not avalable in the app store , but your milage may wary, I've nevere felt the need to jailbreak. Ok it is a bit annoing that the openvpn app only sopports tun or tap interfaces (can't remember which but one is missing) buut fiór one app jailbreaking is not wirth it imho. Other peoiple may have other needs, well there is allways Android, if as tfs sugest jeailbreaiking IOS is coming to an end. As cosumers we still have choice so I do'nt see any big problem, unless people py iphones lock into a n year contract (their choice) and discover after the fact that the device dos not forfill their needs

I doubt Wiereless can efectivly deleiber 100/100+Mbps to evry subscriber in a metro area, limited spectrum, high transpitter denesty etc, I know puting down fiber isn't chaep but when the dich is open there is little exstra cost in 5-10 extra fiber pairs, and those can supply an aufull lot of costumers, an wen 10,20-23 yesr town yhe line when you can't squize any mor banwith out by upgrading end devices it shuld not be tottaly imposible to get another cable down (cheap no) Compare this to wireless once the cell is at minimum size and the spectrum is saturated you are sol. Wireless in a costumers home, shore but from costumer to co/pop/tower not so mouch. Unless you want the connection ti go down in thick fog/heavy rain. Out in the contryside were pop densety is low, shor go wireless but in a metro area, nah stik som finer in the ground/on poles
Yes the if:x notation to get multiple ipv4 adresses on an interface have allso struck me as starnge, pesonaly I suspect it originaly was done duoe to pacwards copatibility. when ipv4 originaly was designed the propaply did not see a need for multiple addresse on a single if, yime moved on and the need came (multiple https hosts on a single network connection (before SNI)) , noone wantetd to change evry bit of code in the ip stack thed delt with interfaces and ipv4 adresses so they just added a sub interface and reused evrything else. This is just a guess on my part but since this is no longer needed in ipv6 (heay add as many adresses as you want on an interface) it seems to me that it has to be som historical reason for it when we talk about ipv4.
Caveat; I'm not a developer so I may (and probably am) way off, if you have more knowlage of the matter than me and hav the inklination to inform me and other readers of this thread, pleace do so
