I don't ever print much, so when I read these threads, I decided to try setup my mama's shared printer upstairs. She's got an HP PSC 500 (multifunction printer, doubted it was even supported).
Loaded up printerdrake in my Mandrake 8.1 installation.
2 minutes later, I run upstairs to find see the printer goin to work on a perfect test page!
Mandrake rules, kids. No need to spend 20 dollars on anything else.
Come on now guys, well all know that this really doesn't affect 95% of the slashdot community anyway -- said percentage hasn't bought a single CD in the last two years anyway!:)
Ahhh, 14 years old. Perl is now going to become (even more) rebellious, may stop talking to its parents, and will insist on being called a man, or more mature.
Don't be surprised if you begin seeing Perl tend to lean towards more pornography and opposite-sex modules. Excitement will soon begin for the car and driving modules as well!
Larry, although Perl doesn't want to talk with you as much during these rebellious years, please make sure that it takes care of itself during its bodily changes, including washing its face, as acne outbreaks are rampant during these years and can ruin its complexion forever.
Now I'm all for the front-paging of stable kernel releases on slashdot, but you gotta be kidding me here! There's going to be hundreds of 2.5.x releases!! You can't front page this all the time! Maybe only the milestone ones...
The great guys running GAIM have been very great developers - they know that they are not always perfect, and are always willing to accept help in forms of patches and plugins.
Not only that, but they could probably use a few more developers seeing that they've been attacked by AOL lawyers recently, as read on slsahdot.
Bunch of assholes hijack 2 planes and decide to go kill 1000 people. This is awful, watching the 2nd plane fly into the World Trade Center live on TV makes me cringe.
Oh, I guess the fact that it has easy-to-use configuration utilities makes it "fake". Get a real clue.

Not only that, but consider how many fixes were done at the RC level! Can never be too patient, those bugs could have been in 2.4.17.
Well shucks, I was able to factor 15 into 5 x 3 when I was in 3rd grade! Maybe I'm "The One"!!
Plain and simple, buddy: You're charging too much.

If Microsoft tries to dismiss THESE as features, then we really have something to be worried about!

You forgot to mention that there's a penis in there too!
Allright, I'll accept that, but Jon, is it worth paying almost eight dollars to see? I think i'll pass..
Of course it's not slashdotted - it's Friday night, most slashdotters are getting ready to go out and party!
Give it to me, and I'll convert my entire porno collection and send em over to ya! After all, that's what making video codecs is all about, right??
This doesn't surprise me. Purdue is seriously the lamest and most boring campus ever.
It turned out that visa's auth systems were broken for a bit :-) Paypal hasn't been a problem since!
That is, if his name is Bill Clinton.
This interview definitely kept him out of trouble, but that's not really what we wanted..
Give me a break.

When wind is used to move a windmill/fan/turbine, does the wind keep going through that, or is it "absorbed", and there's less wind after the turbine?
I would think that it would be absorbed by the moving fan, changing the state of the energy, but I don't know.
I have a D-Link DI701 and I will not buy from them again. The firmware won't upgrade and they won't respond to my support e-mails.
They have not opened, nor will they today. I might no expect them to open the rest of the week.
