The last two have been around for a long time. This was just someone spamming a list of email addresses they had. One is even as far back as 2001. I was happy to see the first post of this last week but if it is just going to be a place to bring up old spam then yuck.

  10. Birds learn to fish on Magpies Are Self-Aware · · Score: 1

I watched a show once on Discovery channel (can't remember the name of it) where some bird was at a pond watching these kids fish. The kids would go to a bag of bread and take a piece of it and put it on the end of a hook. Then they would catch a fish. The bird walked over to the bag, broke off a piece, walked to the water, flipped the bread in the water and when a fish hit the bread he grabbed the fish. That is just too freaking cool. The bird was very aware of his surroundings and learned something right there on the spot and implemented it.

This is perfect timing. Friday afternoon my Comcast cable TV stopped working. So I give Comcast a call only to find out my account was suspended due to no payment since June of this year. But Comcast, I sent my payment this month and am looking at my bank statement as we speak. They told me I have to send them proof so I had my bank fax it to them on Saturday. And Comcast tells me it will take up to 5 business days for them to address my problem. WTF!?!!!!!! Comcast loses my payment and I have to wait for them? And to think I was contacting Comcast directly to complain. I thought that was how it was supposed to work. But now I guess I have to go write a blog to get something done. What is this world coming to? And Comcast. You can go fuck yourself. I'm going to Verizon and DirecTV. I will put this in my blog as well.

Well, it seems suing our customers isn't working. Anyone have any ideas? Hey, lets use Myspace and let them actually purchase music that way. They should have come up with this idea a LONG time ago. After seeing the way they ruin their own customer's lives and wrongfully targetted students (AND even had a bill in Congress pass based on bogus data) they can just go get f'd. They are starting to see that their tactics in court are becoming less profitable and are trying to save their asses. In fact, just listen to free music like garageband.com has on it. Most of those can be downloaded in MP3 format for free or streamed right from your web browser.

  15. Great advertising for MMO Glider on Blizzard Sues Creator of WoW Bot · · Score: 1

Unless there is some big secret I can't see how this software application is going to be ruled as infringing on Blizzard's copyright. That is pretty much a lame attack. One thing that will happen when all of this is over is that there will likely be more Warcraft users due to the increase in media attention and there will also be a LOT more gliders out there. This will likely end up backfiring on Blizzard.

How do I say this is a crock of shit without insulting you? You can gain a remote shell on any of the operating systems and they are all useful accordingly. There are automated attacks for all platforms. I would say Windows systems are more likely to have malware that updates itself. The malware has this function built in and doesn't care about the type of shell it is using. And how do you determine that you rarely get hackers connecting remotely to Windows boxes? I do forensics on these systems often and know that statement is not correct. "increased diversity of unix systems" bwahahaha. no comment. good day

    "This guy is an idiot

I realize some of the EDU IP addresses may be from a private NAT (Network Address Translation) which enables multiple hosts on a private network to access the Internet using a single public IP address. It is safe to say the numbers are probably a bit higher than the data shows but I wouldn't imagine it would be significantly higher.
My 10000 student school has only a few dozen IPs. Yeah, a "bit higher"."

This is the point I was making. I know it is higher but how much higher? Do you have a list of all the Universities that use NAT? How many of those universities ban P2P? If all using NAT also ban P2P then they aren't even in the numbers at all. Without proper numbers it is all speculation and that is why I wrote the blog. I was hoping to spark some discussion and who knows maybe someone reading this will like to dive in and get 'real' numbers. It is still going to be hard to get a number of 'infringers', however.
