My impression was that the new process improves "extra life", by freeing electrons within the zinc oxide making the oxide itself more conductive and capable of completing the same process carried out by the unoxidized zinc, thereby adding to the total output (mAh) of the battery.
I just drop a buck fity on the counter at the Quicky Mart and some guy with an accent slides a cup to me with a smile and a "Tank you vedy vedy much!" Is that cool or what!
That is not the point, global warming is a fact, global warming is the cause of melting ice, global warming is the cause of warmer oceans. That is not what is being contested.
What is being contested is the cause of global warming. There are two podiums here, one is for arguing the cause is man made, the other is for arguing that it is a naturally recurring event.
The first has little evidence to support it other than (slightly) higher co2 levels in the atmosphere. The second of which has strong evidence recorded in, what else but the ice itself as well as in fossil records.
You cannot argue that there have been global warming events in the past but you can argue that man couldn't have been the cause then.
So I guess we are in agreement? Global warming is a CLEARLY OBVIOUS FACT. Seems like I've read this somewhere before... Ahhh yes. Here it is; http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=214148&cid=174 04054
However, if you keep stringing them along for two long, they start to suck...
In my opinion BSG sucked from the beginning. The new, not the old, the old sucked in a completely different way but was cool at the time. I think I must have watched every episode. The new BSG given a different name and different end goal would make for a good show on it's own I believe, but I just couldn't get into the new. The original being mostly light and funny, the new being dark and not funny at all. The characters all lost their appeal after being changed and molded into the directors impression of what they should be. Even the Cylons became darker and more evil (and less robotic). It became a completely different show that sucked because it was using all the character names from a familiar show.
He means it sucks down RAM like its going out of style. I just got a new PC (Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, Good video card, Striped RAID 0) and with absolutely nothing running Vista Business sucked up 35-40% of my RAM. Thats sitting still, doing nothing, with nothing running.
I had the same thing happen but worse. On my computer Vista did that and put fingerprints on the outside of my screen, then it put some sticky stuff on my mouse ball! I was pissed!
I found only parts of the chart that interesting, which made it really bizarre during circular references and cross linking, causing rapid fire repetitive redundant priapismic episodes.
Its sad that you feel like you need to post this as an AC, but this is slashdot, after all...
The first time I posted it, it was automatically tagged as "Flamebait" (read it here) so I changed a few words and re-posted as AC in case it happened again. I didn't want the bad Karma.;)
The really sad part is that no one other than you will take the time to comprehend what I said. I love this country, it's just that sometimes it's like watching your favorite pet get hit by a car at a busy intersection and everyone is just blindly stepping over it instead of helping it.
This is just one more step down the road toward socialism. Government funded projects like this are used to acclimate the populous to become reliant on the Government for everything and on themselves for nothing. I for one will pay the extra $40.00 each as a protest to such programs, although I can guarantee all the coupons will be claimed within weeks or months of their release. It's all about redistribution of wealth. Next will be guaranteed health care for all, then who knows what else. As long as we rely on the Government to do these little things for us now, it will become easier to accept the bigger things coming in the future. More Government equals less freedom. It's not about T.V. or health care, it's about freedom. This is a nation of free people not a nation of people dependent on Government. The people should rule the Government, not the other way around.
Who do you think is actually paying for those coupons? The Government? Where do you think the Government got the money for the coupons? That's right, TAXES! From where? Your pocket. Redistribution of wealth sound familiar? Would you feel good about getting a $40 coupon from someone that just took $10,000 from you? Open your eyes to what is happening! Or keep them shut and accept your fate. After all, it is a free country... for now.
As we all know that Microsoft Vista was originally scheduled to be released in 2003, after two years of Windows XP, but it got delayed by over five years due to various reasons.
If you can look beyond the grammatical errors and get to the intent of the statement, I believe you would find the intent to be something like this. (I am speculating here.); Microsoft Vista was originally scheduled to be released, two years after the 2001 release of Windows XP, in 2003. It was however delayed to over 5 years from the release of Windows XP to its current release date in early 2007, due to various reasons.
Your statement that CO2 levels are slightly higher is bull. They have risen over 30% and doubling of the CO2-level with respect to pre-industrial levels will likely take place early this century.
I was comparing to historical highs that span hundreds of millennia. The highest being around 300ppm and current levels at 360ppm. I really don't think we'll hit 600ppm this century, but I could be wrong.
.... for the anti global warming types to downplay that CLEARLY OBVIOUS FACT that global warming is the cause.

It's already here. You obviously haven't had the strap break and get popped in the eye! That hurts, but waiting for it to happen again is where the torture comes into play. I've never had to take Valium just to watch my kids play any other game.
Recent news reports suggesting the Bush administration is trying to muzzle scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) by placing new controls on approval and release of research plans and products are off base and misinformed about the intent of the changes being formalized at the agency. Speaking as the senior biologist at the USGS, I am deeply concerned that longstanding legitimate scientific peer review processes that have been the basis of scientific practices at the USGS and other scientific agencies and organizations have been mischaracterized as inappropriate political controls on research. Peer review is the bedrock of processes in any credible science organization that ensures scientific conclusions or findings are robust, independent and objective.
Exactly! the whole thing is soley about Peer review!
Say it with me; Peer review, Peer review, Peer review!
It's not like there's going to be a new office created like, "Office of Scientifically Harmfull Information Translation." (Also known by the acronym, "OSHIT") to keep the political spin spinning the right direction. All it means is that before being published or "revealed" for lack of a better term, their (scientists in general) work will have to undergo some bit of scrutiny by their Peers! What's wrong with that? Weed out the nut jobs like that math dude, Dr. James Anderson, that claimed he invented a new number and everyone could now divide by zero! A little Peer review can be a good thing.
On the upside... it would keep nutjob loonies from publishing articles like; "THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH, GIANT METEOR HEADED TO EARTH WILL DESTROY ALL LIFE..."
But on the down side it may also keep legit loonies from publishing articles like; "THE END OF THE WORLD IS NIGH, GIANT METEOR HEADED TO EARTH WILL DESTROY ALL LIFE..."
What? You still use internal drives in the future? I thought in the future all memory would be replaced by non-volatile faster-than-DRAM main memory, making obsolete all sort of internal drives and trivially causing instant power-on? Please, don't tell me you don't have flying cars either!
You've obviously been reading too many Slashdot articles submitted by Roland Piquepaille!
Ooh, look at you, lah-de-dah with your retinal scan! Us ex-Linux users have to activate using technology that MS must have taken from the aliens... yup, you guessed it, it's anal probes all the way.
Yes, I didn't want to mention that, we refer to it as a rectal scan. If you say it fast it almost sounds the same. Handy to know when logging on to a public terminal.
Read the following at 2X speed; "Just a sec Joe, gotta do the retinal scan!" and "Just a sec Joe, gotta do the rectal scan!" See, you almost can't tell the difference!
It was Bills final hoo ha to the Linux crowd since they had been giving it to him the same way for years.
I think we can all agree on the definition of "inflict" in this case.
My impression was that the new process improves "extra life", by freeing electrons within the zinc oxide making the oxide itself more conductive and capable of completing the same process carried out by the unoxidized zinc, thereby adding to the total output (mAh) of the battery.

Barring of course global thermo-nuclear war, asteroid impact, massive volcanic eruption, El niño and La niña... Not necessarily in that order.
