How much longer will it take before the industry "gets it?"
Something tells me, short of a full blown overhaul - rebuild the entire organization from scratch and start anew - these tactics won't change. I see them getting much worse before they get any better. This is a group who, when confronted with new and popular technologies that could have netted them even greater fortunes (had they played their cards right), turned on their collective heel and ran off. Each and every time, this group spat on the ground and became much more insular.
Knowing Comcasts' customer service, they'll send a leather studded butler and no modem instead. Just sayin'.

And following up TLAP Day is the oft overlooked Talk Like A Physicist to Girls Day, observed by spending the day blushing while staring at your toes, occasionally clearing your throat, and sputtering out the occasional "awe shucks".
FTFA: To put this in perspective, the force required to lift a copper penny that weighs just three grams is nearly 30 billion piconewtons...
Heh, next time I go to the gym, I'm not measuring anything in lbs/kgs, I'm measuring everything in piconewtons. Who's the lazy bastard now, ladies? I just lifted a freakin' penny.
For the same reason someone would purchase a BMW M5 vs. a beat-up old Taurus. Sure, they both get you from point A to point B, but the Big-Wang factor runs much higher with the former.
Enter the horrendous movie Robot Jox. But hell, if settling international and territorial disputes means I get to pilot one of those bad boys, sign me up!
The funny thing about rationality is that it's entirely subjective (however irrational that rationality may be, and vice versa, ipso-facto, falcon punch, etc... now I'm just confusing myself).
I can't access TFA (damn work filters), but if it's what I think it is, here's the scoop:
Ubisoft and Jade had a fit after UK artist 'scribblekid' had penned a "racy" (major understatement) parody about how Jade was being made spokesperson for the game - essentially being thrust into the spotlight because she's a major babe. Said parody features her going down a few geeky gamers enjoying her "game".
In the mean time, AltaVista is standing quietly in the corner nursing its drink, trying to muster up the courage to ask ChaCha for a dance. Awwwww :(

For a brief minute, I thought the headline was referring to a certain assisted mobility vehicle...
Now how much do you think the *AA would pay ISPs to do that?
Zero, zip, zilch. They expect the ISP's to have done that from the get-go. It's in keeping with this sense of entitlement of theirs.

Fully incompetent implies the Doc isn't able to tie his shoes in the morn... Wait, is that velcro?
It would be much easier to bludgeon someone to death with the good old 101, but that's probably not the functionality you're referring to.

they'll go away and make a good product if they want some attention.
Or attempt a Yahoo buy-out.
Funny, that's the sound my budget made when running the numbers on the cost of upgrading my client PCs to Vista...
Quantum Physicist Calculates Trajectory of Tiger At SF Zoo
Really, just stick the damn tiger in a box.
Though I thought nowadays it was acceptable to simply ignore the pope when he makes an ass out of himself.
I kinda figured he was just lashing out for attention.
made $1.5 million in sales - total.
But not in album sales - $1.5 million for new toilets in which the listening public has to vomit. One john just isn't enough these days.

The future is coming, through the back door...
Only if this catches on with Real Doll.

um... I mean... I, para uno, dan la bienvenida a nuestros overlords inmigrantes ilegales cibernéticos. (thanks babelfish)
The last time I heard someone used Babelfish, it was in reference to some manner of diplomatic incident.
Seeing as how Japanese cyborgs are involved, I feel you just opened up a whole can of worms. Good going, man. Good going.

Why is that? It's not like he'd ever find you. Worst case scenario is that every six years he'd pop his head up to remind you that he's still around.
"Ask it to divide by zero or the cat gets it!"
The cat was both shot, and not. It was half a tragedy. We all cried furiously, and didn't.

I'll be right there, ready to prove wrong the fool who believes the pen drive is mightier than the sword.
He really needed that shave and a haircut.
