On a side note, another part of the problem is that parents are "raising children" when they should be taking their children and "raising adults". Maybe it's just me, but my 13 year old sister is more mature and able to cope with life than a majority of the young adults (my peers) I have met.

I dunno about that. I spent 2+ years looking for a copy at a reasonable price and could not find it. Used game stores didn't even have a listing for it in their computers. Sure, there was the odd copy on Ebay going for $60-$90 but I just can't afford that. Eventually I just gave up and turned to bit torrent and my problem was solved.
It's been over 3 years, but if I remember correctly, in the Soviet ending FMV Kane kills the other advisor chick while she is saying something about the rise of the brotherhood. In the allies ending, he finishes of a heavily injured Stalin. and then dissapears.
I agree, in fact, I think we need more of anything that offends people (within reasonable limits). I am of the firm belief that everyone should be highly offended at least once a week.
Does this mean that ninjas come from Mars? Do we have an interplanetary war taking place here on Earth? Can I enlist on the Martian Ninja side? Will I get a sword and a ray-gun?
Hell no, if I have a camera and catch one of my friends doing something like that I'll make sure everyone gets a copy. What I will do though is make sure I don't have crybaby brats for friends, which I don't.
Not to say anything against you, as I feel somewhat the same way, but thats part of the problem. This is the United States of America, we were founded on the people telling the government to stick it up their ass. Not saying that armed revolution is the answer, or that I know what the answer is, but to paraphrase the sig of an earlier poster: "The American dream is 'Don't tread on me.'"
You forgot the part about almost all the games that are available costing a lot more than their PC counterparts. Yeah, my laptop is a Mac and I got World of Warcraft on it with a few other games but I'm not giving up my desktop gaming PC for a Mac.
According to the bible, Jesus was already dead when stabbed.
John 19:32-34
So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him;
but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
Hehe, more like dumbed down versions of nethack. I have yet to play a game that approaches the depth and complexity of gameplay found in nethack. I'm still waiting for another game to let me pick up (assuming I have gloves on) a chimera corpse and swing it around as a weapon.....
Yeah, Battletoads! God I love that game, nothing like beating the crap out of the other player only to have yourselves massacered by the boss. I did actually beat the game though, once, by what was most likely a stroke of luck.....
FFV (jap) had a ton of classes. Lets see how many I remember.....Knight, White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Monk, Mystic Knight, Thief, Ninja, Samarui, Elementalist, Monster Tamer,........
Might want to check out some of the Freespace 2 Mods out there. The Babylon Project is quite good, at least as a game, as I have little familiarity with the B5 universe. It works well with the Freespace2 Source Code Project and is also available as a stand-alone program if I remember correctly.
Excellent game. It has a good storyline, plays well, has interesting characters, decent voice acting...a lot of developers out there should study this game as it's one of the few newish games that haven't disappointed me, Halo being the most recent(No, all you fanboys out there, Halo is not as good as Half-Life or even Dark Forces IMNSHO). And it is available on PC.
Astronomy and cosmology kind of work that way. Seeing that nothing gets to us instantly, we are always observing phenomenon that have already happened. GO out and look at the sun (but not right at it), thats how it looked about 8 minutes ago. Look at Alpha Centauri, thats how it looked about 4.3 years ago.
I've played Darwinia and it is one of the best new(ish) games. Sadly though, I can't see it ever making it mainstream, especially with the simple graphics. To the average game player, realistic graphics are important.
Not necessarily. Normal mobs in particular are often found in groups. It would be interesting if the player of the monsters was given an RTS-type interface and control of all the mobs in a particular area. This would allow a regular player to move quickly and kill a few but force them to withdraw before they were killed. This would require some balancing work to prevent everyone to be immediately attacked by multiple mobs.
So that means winning is like taking candy from a baby right?

No, no...hammers are for bashing skulls, screwdrivers are for jabbing eyes. Each tool to its most efficient use.
I think you may be wasting your time with forums like slashdot....I know I am, but that's kind of the point....

That could possibly be the best burn ever......

This is a little easier to work with:
2.586 x 10^21 miles = 134,873,456 Parsecs

I remember that game....it waas pretty good, one of the few shooters I really liked.... and the original came with a sweet comic book too...
Personally I would have prefered "High Overlord Safety, Master of all Myspace Content"
WHAT! Next thing you know their going to be in China....what is the world coming to.
