    yes, here in new zealand, i have a 40gb per month cap. while i would, of course, like more, i can live with it. however, our entire internet infrastructure badly needs a revamp.

    It only comes across that way because our ISPs refuse to upgrade to world class speeds and traffic caps. Too much politics involved, when its fairly obvious that it would benefit everyone involved.

    Bit of a weird one I know, but if you want guaranteed data retrieval (barring internet annihilation), why not make a deal with a hosting company to keep a website of yours live for 25 years, and write the URL of it in stone with a date, to be placed underground and dug up in the future?

    the only reason this was really a big issue (aside from the legality of steroids, but isnt that what the article is addressing?), is that the participants were not aware that they were being given harmful drugs. if the legality of the substances was to change, i for one dont have a problem with atheletes ruining their own bodies if they know what they are doing.

    I needed to learn about microcontrollers, and was advised to go with the AVR micros. These tutorials focus on the serious side of electronics, and do it in a light hearted manner. Well worth looking into.

    ...and I happen to use the open source mapping software mentioned. It has decent details down to street level all over the country, which is nice, because the default map of NZ is jagged and boxy even at 100km resolution. With the new map, we get fluid coastlines, street names, and all sorts. Quite the useful tool!

    Please step down from your high horse for a moment - every nation has a right to have an army. If theirs is somewhat bigger than yours in some way, that does not make them automatically your enemy. By Xenu, the US is one of the most aggressive and militant countries in the world, should we (the rest of the planet) consider you an enemy? Your logic is absurd.

    And dont make me bring up the illegitamacy of the Iraq war, because noone needs the inevitable clusterf*** that will ultimately ensue.

    Maybe your country should, you know, actually try diplomacy with these people rather than throwing around words you might regret. ie. Stop trying to be the world police.

    coming... a number of factors prevent biofuel from being the solution to our problems: 1. burning anything will produce undesirable side-effects 2. growing the amount of material we would need to power the world would take a big chunk out of the planets food production, not something we can afford in a world with an ever-exponentially increasing population. 3. why develop a technology that will be obsolete and/or too costly in the near future? go humans. in an attempt to get off fossil fuels, we just invent another product just as bad.
