Fatigue properties have nothing to do with thickness. Aluminium breaks far more readily than titanium. The higher stressed parts are preferably made of titanium, not aluminium. For example, aluminium screws are never ever used for parts that will be stressed, but titanium screws are strong enough to replace steel screws in many cases.
Not sure if joking or stupid. Belarus - the last existing Soviet republic was a part of the USSR just the same. They had weaker industry and agriculture than Ukraine. Still they are better off.
Both Ukraine's industry and agriculture was extremely strong by 1991. But yes, they were indeed too lazy and too corrupt. Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
Invasion of Poland was mostly the revenge for the 1920ies war. And as for "did exactly nothing". I quote Wikipedia:
At the Tehran Conference (November 1943), Stalin agreed that the Soviet Union would enter the war against Japan once Nazi Germany was defeated. At the Yalta Conference (February 1945), Stalin agreed to Allied pleas to enter World War II's Pacific Theater within three months of the end of the war in Europe. The invasion began on August 8, 1945, precisely three months after the German surrender on May 8 (May 9, 0:43 Moscow time).
Doesn't look like that to me, to be honest. They have voted for Kuchma for two times. Then they have ousted Yanukovich in 2008 and voted for Yushenko, but gave Yushenko only 5% of their votes in 2012, chosing Yanukovich instead (in free and fair elections by the way). Then they ousted Yanukovich again without waiting for real elections.
I personally think, Ukrainians don't really know what they want and they don't really want democracy when they have Maidan. They have inherited the best agriculture and the best industry from the USSR and what have they done with it? Absolutely nothing. For fuck's sake, even Belarus has twice the GDP per capita PPP. Even worse, Kosovo of all countries is better off.
And then the rear wheel rebounds and the sadle kicks you into your particulars. Suspension also keeps the wheel on the road. My spine is damaged already, I take dead weight and spongy pedalling any time.
You are probably forgetting brake fluid. Unless it is mineral oil based, like it used to be on some Citroens, it will have to be replaced every two years at best.
So you never know the feeling of riding a really good bike. Just as a comparison, my commuter bike was worth about EUR2000 in parts (I build my bikes myself) and it is not an electric bike.
Sitting upright also means that every bump goes straight up through your spine. Not very nice to the spinal discs unless you ride a full suspension bike.
Cycling in winter is not that bad. You cannot speed because the air is cold to the lungs and because the spike tyres have a huge rolling resistance. Other than that it is fine. Safer than walking, actualy - because of the spikes.
Only kinda sorta. While CVT has unlimited gear, there are limits in the gear range (360% for Nuvinci N360) and in the minimum gear (or else the torque is too high and would destroy the CVT hub). That is while I found Nuvinci awesome, I am not able to use it - I live in the mountains and need at least an equivalent of 22-27.
Germany was very divided since forever. In fact, Germany as a state did not exist before 1871, it was divided into severall small kingdoms, duchies and so on before that.
Different dialects of German are often not even mutually intelligible. It is so bad that even though I speak fluent standard German, I cannot understand someone speaking full Bavarian dialect. As a comparison, as a fluent Russian speaker I can sort of understand other Slavic languages, even these that are as far away from Russian as Czech or Serbian.
Well, true enough, this persistent complaining about beta is annoying, but then again beta indeed is worse than OMG Ponies Slashdot. This complaining is akin to a strike, and supposed to be annoying.
Finding out the relationship between CO2, amount of available light and plant growth.
It is fairly easy to do it at home, especially with water plants, because you indirectly measure the amount of CO2 solved in the water by measuring the water pH level. Under water the level of photosynthesis of fast growing plants is also quite visible by tiny bubbles rising from the leaves.
I always trink tap water at home. Seems that the antidepressants in the urban drinking water are only in homeopathic quantities, because I am still a very unhappy person altogether.

Yes, your definition of "nearly".
Nearly starting what please? The annexation of Crimea was so far bloodless. Compare that to Iraq and Afghanistan.

orly?
you mean the same guy who pushed for peaceful coexistence?
no, the nuclear arm race started in 1949.
For both economic reasons - Ukraine is piss-poor compared to Russia, and for ethnic reasons - Ukrainians are a minority in Crimea.
Aw come on, cut them some slack. Merkel even uses SMS from time to time ;-)

Modern 26" MTB steel frames weigh about 2500g where comparative aluminium frames weigh 1700g or so. Not a big deal, really.
Nice one. Same slope here, but I used to max out at 65kph because I just could not pedal any faster (46-11).

Never been to USA. All cars I've driven were made in and for Germany.
1993 Opel Astra. Locks only when the key is out.
2004 Audi A3. Locks only when the key is out.
2012 VW Golf. Locks only when the key is out.
I seldom drive, but I remember that much.

I am actually surprised that it is not the Hamburg regional court this time.

Like I said, they could use more only if there would be more sunlight available. Otherwise CO2 levels would sink.
This is an experiment you can do by yourself without much difficulty. I've done it already myself.
This is by the way also the reason why darkening the atmosphere to fight global warming is stupid - it will slow plant growth.
