More like one bunch of crooks was replaced by another bunch of crooks riding on the wave of nationalism. To make an analogy, imagine the most corrupt of Nixon's cabinet fighting over who gets to be the next president with no holds barred. This is more or less what happens in the Ukraine for the past 10 years.

And the route of Poland is basically to mooch off Germany. They receive the lion's share of EU subsidies, so much that even Greece is envious.

Czech Republic is a far better example of success and the Czech aren't nearly as smug about it.

Why it is so difficult to grasp? I don't have any scruples eating meat and my cholesterol is perfect so the doctor wouldn't mind. Nevertheless I hate beef and mutton and am mostly indifferent to pork. Chicken legs are okay and so is an occasional horse steak.

Mostly just too lazy to cook the meat the way I prefer so I just skip meat without any regret. But I bloody love gorgonzola on a sourdough rye bread with caraway.

Speak for yourself please. My body doesn't crave meat and i don't particularly like the taste of many meats, especially beef. I would take good cheese or nice rye bread or vegetables over meat any day. But meat is often cheaper, otherwise i'd probably eat meat once a week or so.

Well, it is difficult to take this piece of cold war propaganda for real when its numbers are often off by a factor 50 or so. Simple example: the guesstimates of Stalin's purges run up to 100 millions (would be half of the Soviet population, if one just stops and thinks about it). After the NKVD archives were released to the public in the 1990ies, it became pretty clear, that somewhat less than a million was executed and another 500000 died due to repressions. Still a huge number, but pales in comparison of how many Soviets were killed by Nazi Germany.

Even more ironic is the fact that at any given time during Stalin's rule there were about 3 millions of Soviet citizens imprisoned, which is not really that far off the number of currently incarcerated Americans - 2.2 millions, currently the largest prison population in the whole bloody world. Land of the free my arse.

But since you are usually as full of shit as a cesspit emptier, it is no wonder you spread that crap everywhere you can.

There was no distinction between Russians and Ukrainians (and Belarusians too, by the way) until the late Middle Ages, when the Old East Slavic language started to drift apart into Old Russian and Ruthenian due to the area being divided by Lithuanian and Mongolian conquerors. The Lithuanian part much later became the Ukraine and Belarus, the Mongolian part later became Russia after Mongols were overthrown.

Then again, circa 500CE there were neither, it is way before Kievan Rus' was even founded, so at that time that area was just settled by Eastern Slavic tribes and Finns with some Viking settlements along the large waterways.

The scientific fact is that most "recreational" drugs attach to certain receptors, which are meant for internal communication only. The euphoria you get from drugs is due to them being in far higher dosage than what the receptors normally expect.

This abuse leads to desensitisation, making it difficult for drug users to feel good naturally.
