Last year, we had a New Years eve party. We had four people playing tennis and one guy lost his grip. The strap broke (old strap), sending the remote smashing into a concrete block wall. The battery cover and batteries went flying. Almost one year later, I still haven't had any issues with it. Quality hardware!
Movie viewing is a different breed of entertainment. I'll drop $6 on an early show on a whim, but I won't spend $40-50 without reading reviews. I'm not willing to risk that kind of money on a potential stinker.
Agreed. The only reason I purchased Bioshock at launch was because of the demo. I refuse to purchase any PC game that I haven't tried out in one way or another.
Casual gamers purchase fewer games than 'hardcore' (aka teenagers and college students) gamers. The thing to consider is how many Wiis have sold. The Wii may have a lower attach rating, but the larger user base means more overall game sales.
The RIAA doesn't file the suits. If you go and read one, you'll discover that the suit is actually filed by the copyright holder (Universal, BMG, etc). I'd bet that the same applies to the BSA. Both are simply a front to bear the ill will of their victims and the public.
It costs an average of 40k per year to keep an inmate housed. Assuming he/she is put away at 25 and dies at 75, that works out to 2 million. That doesn't factor any increases in costs for the next 50 years. How does it cost more than 2 million dollars to execute someone?
It would be a nice gesture except at least one of the former inmates is back in prison. I believe the charge was murder in the 1st. Also, I personally believe that Ryan was trying to buy some good will with his future jurors.
This runs in the same vein as stores putting out Christmas crap earlier and earlier. It's gotten to the point where they're pushing towards October 1st now.
Great game. I vaguely remember driving around and trapping ghosts. I had quite a few for the Apple II. Commando, Prince of Persia, Ghost Busters, Spy vs Spy, Alf (terrible game).
Same here. I actually felt a little guilty when I was mowing them down.

1) The material penetration is great, especially when you shoot through a closed door on a whim.
2) I was annoyed by the ghillie suit scene. They were literally 1' away and they can't see you? It took me several tries since I didn't realize that you weren't supposed to move forward. You're fine if you move side to side, but they'll spot you if you start moving forward. Stupid.
3) The AC130 was GREAT. Having said that, I wish they had used a different color to show friendlies. I had a hard time spotting the blinking lights.
4) I REALLY hate the endless supply of enemies. I get it, I'm supposed to feel overwhelmed. That doesn't change the fact that I can snipe everyone in a house and more guys will pour out 10 seconds later.
I enjoyed the gunship as well. The problem that I had was I had a hard time picking out which guys were mine. I wish they had made them a different color rather than a non-obvious 'blinking'.
It has already been shown that descendants of traditionally short ethnicities grow taller when raised in the United States. That suggests that diet is far more significant than your genetic makeup.
Do they perma-kill your characters like they did in the gamecube game? I sold the game after I made a mistake and had one wiped out.

My thought exactly. I would love to see the decline of Rapture first hand. Perhaps take a hand in the political power struggle.
That's because people are too stupid or lazy to read the box. They would rather have it poorly summed up in a character or two.
Not according to Barney. (Simpsons tree house of horror where Barney joins in on the flesh eating)
That's true until you try to incorporate selling your art into a business model.

Correction. Innocent until they find a legal way to extort money from you.

I personally like the chainsaw manual that reads, "Do not attempt to stop chain with hands or genitals."
Disclaimer: I am an American who hates the current litigious society.
Correction:
Leave it to an American to file a lawsuit where a simple phone call would suffice.
This is why we need to eliminate ear marks. Scratch that, eliminate the current batch of corrupt politicians.

I would have given it a solid 4/5 if it wasn't for the endless spawning. I got killed so many times trying to run away from that stupid farm..

3/5 seems fair.

Everyone knows that the navy trains with swords to protect us from roaming bands of pirates. Aaargh!
I doubt it was the content, but how it was said.
