Ok, true; politicians lie anyways. But for now they do declare that their election is the "will of the people". I'd like to see them say that went nobody votes.

Duh, get a clue. Don't vote for *either* Republicans or Democrats. Send a little message, don't vote at all! It gets a little harder to declare the mandate of the voter when only about 5% vote.

Basically this is what you are defining as adaptation, and then call it different than evolution, which you don't define. Usually the people that I see making this distinction are opponents of evolution that do so because they can't deny adaptation or "micro evolution" (to many examples available in real life), but still want to be able to argue against evolution on a larger scale. Anyways, the point is, adaptation is evolution by the definition that biologists use. Defining it otherwise is what people do in order to protect their religious and philosophical beliefs.

And it is well known science that adaptation works on existing genes. Adaptation does not turn worms into people. Adaptation is just variation within the existing types. It is only a philosophical belief based on rejection of real science that allows the idea that adaption can lead from pond scum to humanity.

It's not so much that people have failed to notice the government doing their job for once, several people have shown appreciation of it. It's that the government has been doing corrupt things and not protecting us for so long that people question whether they're really trying to protect us this time. It's kind of like that scene in a lot of movie revolving around highschool, where the popular kids constantly pick on and beat up the dorky kids. Then one day they invite said dork to a party, the dork thinks "wow, they've changed their minds and like me", only to show up and get their ass kicked and/or be the butt of some school wide joke.

Not exactly. Way back in the beginning, shareware was generally full featured software that you could try out to see if you liked it.
