Uh, when did a low voter turnout ever affect a declaration of a mandate?
Ok, true; politicians lie anyways. But for now they do declare that their election is the "will of the people". I'd like to see them say that went nobody votes.
So who do we vote for now? Democrats had their fun with censorship in the 80s and 90s, now it's Republicans turn.
Duh, get a clue. Don't vote for *either* Republicans or Democrats. Send a little message, don't vote at all! It gets a little harder to declare the mandate of the voter when only about 5% vote.
Yes, and the scientific fact is that the planet Earth goes through tremendous climate change (ever heard of "The Ice Age") without the help of man-made effects. So all you global warming, the sky is falling, we gotta do something nuts should just go jump in the lake.
Basically this is what you are defining as adaptation, and then call it different than evolution, which you don't define. Usually the people that I see making this distinction are opponents of evolution that do so because they can't deny adaptation or "micro evolution" (to many examples available in real life), but still want to be able to argue against evolution on a larger scale.
Anyways, the point is, adaptation is evolution by the definition that biologists use. Defining it otherwise is what people do in order to protect their religious and philosophical beliefs.
And it is well known science that adaptation works on existing genes. Adaptation does not turn worms into people. Adaptation is just variation within the existing types. It is only a philosophical belief based on rejection of real science that allows the idea that adaption can lead from pond scum to humanity.
If we cannot decide for ourselves how to dispose of our disposable income, then in no way, shape or form can we be described as free. All forms of gambling should be legal, regulated and taxed.
Boy, are we schizophrenic. First we should be free, then we need to be regulated and taxed. Make up your damn mind.
OK, I've been running windows XP without reinstalling it for over 3 years. In that time the only reason I've seen it crash is problems with 3rd party apps going haywire.
Damn I get tired of this. An OPERATING SYSTEM should *NEVER* crash because of an APPLICATION.
It's not so much that people have failed to notice the government doing their job for once, several people have shown appreciation of it. It's that the government has been doing corrupt things and not protecting us for so long that people question whether they're really trying to protect us this time. It's kind of like that scene in a lot of movie revolving around highschool, where the popular kids constantly pick on and beat up the dorky kids. Then one day they invite said dork to a party, the dork thinks "wow, they've changed their minds and like me", only to show up and get their ass kicked and/or be the butt of some school wide joke.
An analogy that makes sense..... you must be new here! Welcome to slashdot, now cut it out!.
>Personally, I think voting should be MANDATORY for all citizens, but I don't think that will happen either.
So you want millions of uninformed uncaring citizens to start determining national policy? The solution is to education people so that they want to vote, not force people to vote on things they know nothing about.
Though I agree more with you than the "mandatory moron", if you really think that the voters "determine national policy", then I think you also need to have you head examined.
This means there will be aproximately 66713451548377005519 IP's per cm^2, which actually is 66713451548 billion IP's per cm^2, or aprox 66 Quintillion IP's per cm^2.. Way more than the paltry 10 devices per square feet you're talking about.
Sound like somebody kinda over-engineered that bad boy a tad.
Shareware is a limited or expiring version of an application made available for free with the idea that you should be able to try the software before purchasing it. It doesn't have a thing to do with open source, it's just another way of selling your closed source software.
Not exactly. Way back in the beginning, shareware was generally full featured software that you could try out to see if you liked it. It was really an honor system, whereby if you really kept using it, you sent the "owner" some money. These types of programs were generally quite cheap, but usually pretty good.
'Cause they don't want to pay for a new version or bother getting a pirate copy, or deal with the headaches of upgrading, and maybe it simply works for them and feel no obligation to change?
Then they don't need a *new* version of Firefox either!
I personally was funded by MS to spearhead an impartial study.....
Come on. This is IMPOSSIBLE. Be it Microsoft or anyone else. When someone if funding a study to show how their product stacks up against someone else, it is never impartial.

At the current rate, the dollar bill won't be far behind.

Not if you bank at bustybabes.com

I've got a new flash for you, it happens whether you participate or not!
I've had tabbed browsing in my file cabinet for 50 years!!!!
And we know that the results are accurate because their software had no bugs.
Boy, are we schizophrenic. First we should be free, then we need to be regulated and taxed. Make up your damn mind.
Personally, I prefer freedom.
DLL hell in linux......are you using MS Linux???
Damn I get tired of this. An OPERATING SYSTEM should *NEVER* crash because of an APPLICATION.
How many times do we have to say it?!?!?!
Make is easy on yourself and just call them both bitches.
That is absolutely false, Windows 3.1 could only run 2 pieces of software at one time. The OS and 1 app.

It's interesting that the eyes had no effect whatsoever on the honest people.

I am currently using Trillian instead.
Now you tell me.....
Yes, my Mac is on crack [new alias for Windows Vista]
It was the ONE page that I just had to see daily.
When Dave was on vacation, it was a dull week or two.
Then they don't need a *new* version of Firefox either!
