I agree, we as a civilization would be the first to "draw blood". We probably would not hesitate to slice open a visitor from another planet in the name of science. Besides, who in their right mind would want to visit this planet.
We've scorched the land, polluted the air and water and we can't keep from killing and torturing each other.

I'm sure that any "enlightened" race of beings would stay as far from us as non-humanly as possible. I'm surprised that any aliens that are out there haven't put us out of our misery..

For my son and my neighbor's kid. They both have a form of Autism called Aspergers. I am praying that this will help them both one day. My son is a very brilliant sweet boy and is fine the way he is. But I want him to be able to have better coping skills for a world that will put him down for not being like everyone else.
I hope this does build the road to helping people.

I think that the police should always be video taped doing their job. If they are doing it right they should have nothing to worry about.. People (Cops too) are only worried about someone watching them when they are doing something wrong..

I personally want to know if there are police out there that are going to cause me or someone I care about harm.. And I want that person fired, and brought to justice with a permanent mark on their record prohibiting them from being in any law enforcement capacity.

  11. Lycoris + Mandrake = Time bomb on Mandriva Fires Founder Gael Duval, Who Plans to Sue · · Score: 0

Lycoris was a great distro, but I didn't like the Redmond mindset that the founder took with him from the evil empire. I cut my teeth on Mandrake and I had a feeling as soon as these two entities joined forces one of two things could happen: 1. A really awesome user friendly distro, or 2. The Redmond money hungry mindset would spread like cancer.. Unfortunately I believe that Mr. Mandrake had some core differences about how things should be ran which hindered the "bottom line"... That gave Redmond clone enough reason to fire him..

I just hope that this doesn't become a trend in the GNU/Linux community, computers in general were about fun and learning until big business started getting greedy.. Linux is the last man standing when it comes to Free, Fun and Educational..

  13. I'm sure this has already been said.. on Ten Reasons to Buy Windows Vista · · Score: 0

Most of the new features of Vista are old and well used features of Linux.. We don't have to open a webpage to update our systems. We have YUM, YUMEX, APT, Synapic, etc.. We've had the ability to render 3d desktops for a while. As for spyware and virus protection, not really needed.. At least with our OS we can run it on cheap and old machines and still get better boot times and program load times than Windows..

I'm not a total Linux snob, I still have a windows machine for school stuff, but my main machine is the one that I can keep running for days or months on end. Most Windows machines would choke and blue screen on you within 3 days time.. Or just slow to a near stop..

But to each his or her own.. Use what you like and like what you use I suppose..
