True, according to Microsoft, its $400 machine fails as much as any other appliance. But, when's the last time your toaster had marketing hype an entire year in advance? Justifying bad behavior with someone else's bad behavior still means your product sucks.
Also, this is like asking how many people someone has slept with, but the exact opposite: If MS says its own machines fail at a rate of 5%, then multiply by two.
I agree. I don't think a room full of college age kids playing Super Smash Bros. is "kiddie" at all. Nintendo is, and has been, a leader in innovation for video games. That will continue into the next gen regardless of what the small minded minority is spewing forth.
You know what else I haven't heard lately? The "buzz" that was supposed to be generated following the release of PSP's "killer app" GTA:LCS. Seems to me that it was a good game, just not good enough to unshackle the PSP's image as a mediocre media device.
It's all about the mighty dollar though. Demand a change in computer hardware until you're blue in the face, th epowers that be won;t change so long as it's cheaper to sinply blow on the thing until they, too, turn blue.
With the PS3 now rumored to be 600 or more (again, it's a rumor), I'm thinking that next-gen gamers will be having a compatibility issue of their own with Sony products. That being, of course, their current wallets will not be big enough to play Sony's new system.
Wi-Fi is already provided to people with laptops/BigMACs in 1,000 McDonald's locations, which just so happens to be the same McDonald's where the DS service is being provided.
"The report cautions that these projections are highly dependent on the success of the next-generation gaming consoles to be introduced by Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo."
Gee, so the article is saying, straight up, that everything contained within it is worthless. In other news, interest in Sci Fi movies over the next eight years will skyrocket on the condition that aliens land during that period and talk to us.

Millions of PSP owners are now scrambling to find a DS emulator.
Hmm, one wonders where I got it in the first place, no?

on what your definition of "open" is. Same defense, different Bill.
Hmm, or he was offered a CEO position elsewhere maybe? But hey, it's /., so cynicism/negativity rules, right?

Sharp eyes will catch the fact that this is "shipped" sales, not PSP's sold. Sony's good at marketing, I'll give them that.
