    It seems that sometimes spybot doesnt pick up things that adaware might (or vise versa) or it wont remove them properly. Never hurts to have a few!

    Back in the day you looked up people on icq , searched a specific age range, checked the profile, requested pics, etc. This is the same, but all in one, its ok, my only issue with it, is all these "secne" Kids, or these emo "scar on my life" kids are lame, and i hate all the banners and ads, but its ok overall.

    i think this is great, now parents can get linux full of apps for the kids. And hopefully at a young age they will learn how to navigate linux , since most of us grew up useing windows, the change was slightly difficult at first. If kids started with it, they should be pros by the time they are 20!

    For some reason i feel as if the cable companies will never let it happen. But i would love it, i hate paying for all the packages with an 80 bux a month or higher bill for watching 5 channels!

    it seems like a fake to me, it seems as if it would have to have some type of software or firmware to control the forward, back, stop, play etc, maybe if the guy took apart one of those cheap mp3 players, and then ran wires from the forward, back stop and play functions from it to the controller buttons, maybe that would work (somehow, its not likely)

    nevermind, i was offtopic, as far as making the best of a linux desktop, you could always install the xp background, and make the hole thing look like XP to confuse co workers, tell them all you got converted to a windows box

    how about instead of every linux program being named blah_01-.52a_file.whatever maybe they could just name it Blah.tgz? gets to be a pain in the command line having to type out every detail

    Im glad to see they are trying new things, hopefully even small advances in different types of fuel might even cut down on fossil fuels, bio disel seems like a great idea, i just have no idea how they could ever produce enough of it for everyone.

    think of the data they store, i mean with the stock well over 300 a share for a search engine??? something is amiss!!! why is it worth anything at all? because they have the largest storage of personal data, what people search for, when, i am sure its all broken down into stats

    I have used several distros and i really dont see the difference much in one over another, Currently ubuntu is my fav, *is waiting for everyone on slashdot to say something smart @ssed about my comment* but seriously, cant i do all the same things on just one distro? other than package management, whats the diff? (for example, why would i run redhat over mandervia, or gentoo, etc) if they can all run gnome, kde, fluxbox, etc

    its really stupid, for instance i was selling a specific model of alpine cd player on ebay, i went to google, searched for google images, and found the exact model, the stock picture of it, and used it as my pic, to show what it looked like , ebay pulled my auction saying " Intellectual Property" whatever, how can someone own a stock picture of something?? thats crazy, its different if its art, or some great digital image, but just a stock pic of electronics? thats going to far

    so they use electricity to create a "small amount" of hydrogen, my question is, how much electricity is needed to product hydrogen from water? can X amount of water on product X amount of hydrogen? or more electricty = more hydrogen??

    most people have windows, like it or not, and cedega is not going to support all games that you want to play, why not get the game publishers to make linux versions of the game, and then cedega would not be needed?

    Of course this was wayyyyyy back in the day, i think it was 1996? what a joke, im still trying to teach myself linux lol, its alot easier now, then i remember trying to manually partition my packard bell (the only pc i had) to try to run slackware on it, mannn was it compliated downloading a package at a time on 56k, then once i had them it, it did not run =( supported nothing on the packedbell!!!
