As a matter of fact, yes. The zip locks usually work. It's just that the actual zip lock is not up to the quality of a real Ziploc/Glad/generic store brand bag.
However, my favorite resealable package is the new Chips Ahoy! package (warning: flash site, look at the opening animation.) At first I thought it wouldn't work. But its probably the most creative and workable resealable package I've ever seen.
I understand where your ideas are coming from, but to say that science and technology are the only fields that deserve funding from the government, is simply naive. I don't plan on suddenly sculpting the next David, but art has value as well.
Do you think that art should not be taught in schools as well? Should there be no more literature classes? But then history would not be important either, since it's rather difficult to really understand historical events without understanding the art from the period.
I agree with you when you say that religion and sports should not be publicly funded. And I don't think they are. Even if your government does give money to a sports team, it's usually not with the intention of supporting that team, rather, it is intended to help its citizens by stimulating the economy.
A real art major would know that magneta isn't used in additive color mixing (aka your monitor.) Rather, it uses Red, Green and Blue. Magenta (along with Cyan and Yellow) are used in printing.
Except for the fact that Thor just came from well...someones mysterious mind, and the extra dimensions come from math. This is how general relativity came about in the first place too. The real world wasn't fitting the math of Newton's theory, so Einstein had his moment of genius, so now you get GPS.
I definitely don't agree with the NSA wiretapping, but I'm pretty sure that the NSA's security is a little better. I hope that the people working there are a bit smarter too.
As long as their penchant for breaking into systems doesn't mean they want to get broken into, things shouldn't get that bad.
No seriously, from their website (yahoo go! that is), it seems that this is a piece of software that will turn you computer into a dvr and act as a google desktop search sidebar and allow your mobile phone to access media files at yahoo
I don't know if this will take off but it seems like an ok idea
Some caveats though, no support for linux or Mac, and it's probably loaded with DRM.
It may seem like Burst.com is simply another NTP or patent troll, but I don't think that's really true. They actually did have a product but were driven out of the market by MS and WMP
And while their technologies may seem obvious now, they may not have been so obvious when they patented them. In fact, during the tech bubble, many though Burst would be another hot company. In fact, they argue that they were driven out of business because windows media player purposely was built to be incompatible with their technology (this is second hand information not verified by me.)
I'm not sure if Burst.com actually deserves to have these patents or win these lawsuits, but it definitely seems more justified than NTP in suing MS and now Apple
Intel has been losing so much market share in the server space recently.
Maybe now they will be able to recover a little.
Although, I'm not sure if this will compare to AMD's top offerings.
Excuse me for sounding dumb, but what is Ruby on Rails? I've heard a lot about it recently, but haven't the slightest clue what it is. A little bit of background would be most appreciated.
Ruby on Rails is a web development framework. It provides a library for Ruby so it can be used with web development allowing it to be used in applications normally reserved for other languages.
Slashdot's big on this kind of stuff today. First the Java/everything else flamewar and now this (admittedly no flamewar.)
The number of people that enjoy watching DVDs on their computer is only slightly larger than the number of people with HTPCs... The bump received from this minorty will not be enough to kill off any competition
Have you ever considered college students who might not want to own both a PC and a DVD player? For them, especially when space in a dorm room is at a premium, this is a very big deal.
I don't see why the affiliates are making such a big deal out of this. After all, these shows have already premiered on their networks and DVDs of TV shows have already been sold forever. How does distributing it online make any difference?
Now, on the other hand if they were bearing PNGs....
Worst joke ever; nevertheless, I love it.
I'm surprised you aren't modded +5 funny or -1 (by the people who don't get it) yet.

Did you RTFS?
The maximum range of UWB is something like 10 feet. No hacker would be able to get that close to your computer without you noticing.
This is not offtopic. Penny Smith is the author of the paper in the article.
yvan eht nioj!
This is supposed to be a funny reference to a Simposons episode. Mod up funny!

Duh! having the strategy and insight of Microsoft paired with the trust and reliability of Yahoo!, Oh, wait, nevermind...

This is a great thing Sun is doing. I wouldn't argue with that. I just wish that they would open up Java also. If only.
And maybe FP? (literally)
